What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2020]

Pruned a lot of trees and cut down a bunch of saplings. We're reclaiming a bunch of our property now that the kids won't burst into flames without constant attention.

I have been hanging onto a second gen Firebird subframe for ages. I kept it because when I needed one for my '77 TA I had to get one from Connecticut. I know how hard it is to find unsmashed ones. I was almost ready to cut it up for scrap when a guy from Jersey called and wanted it. SOLD!!

Got the fuel filter replaced the wife's Vert, got the hubcaps back on, skirts on and cleaned the Vert roof. Then I took it and filled up the 25 gallon tank that was nearly empty and took it for a 30 minute shakedown cruise, moved the fleet around again and had to kick Jr.'s Cop Vic out of the house garage for the spring and summer.

Now the wife's Vert set for her to use anytime she wants and I can get back on my next project.

Replaced the intake pipe on my pool pump to fix a air leak I hadblast season. Used schedule 80 and installed a union in front of the pump.

Decided to vacuum down and recharge the air conditioner in the Beetle. I had to rent the vacuum pump from Autozone and buy a new set of manifold gauges from Harbor Freight for the occasion. I vacuumed it down for 90 minutes or so, and it seemed to be holding well so in went the R134a and some oil charge. The pressures were right on and it was colder than a snowman's nuts.

Since all the equipment was laying out anyways, I went ahead and vacummed down the Bonneville as well. The compressor is locked up, and was only installed as a placeholder, but it would be nice to know that the system will hold a vacuum with the hybrid compressor hose that I had made.

It is nice to finally use that HVAC class that I took in college.
