That's the quickest way, but I try to avoid chemical weed killers for the health of my pets and family, so that means that I am pulling the old fashioned way - , by hand. Gone are the old days when we would pour our used motor oil on fence line borders and planting strips.
I got lucky again. I use US Army surplus backpack covers to protect my swivel seats on a Whaler. Normally they don't cover a tire because the internal bungee cord is too short. But as I was covering a seat the cord broke and I then realized just how big the cover was when it was not restrained by the cord. It covered the entire 225-75-15 wheel. So how to make it work? I had saved a couple of bungee cords from old covers that had ripped apart from exposure. I fished the broken cord out of the cover and using the little steel clamps that secure the ends I used two cords to make one long one. I fished that back through the cover and tied the ends off. It kind of worked but two cords was too long. So I loosened the clamp and puled the cord out enough to get a good snug fit around the tire . See pics. Then I mounted the spare and stretched the cover over it. NICE! It fits perfect and cost me almost nothing, which is my favorite price.
Did a few small projects with my brother on his truck today. Last weekend, after doing the spray-in bedliner, I ordered a set of the bumpers that go on the tailgate latches. He was missing one. Today he put them on and I coached him on adjusting the strikers forward so the gate is latched snug against the bumpers when it's shut. Nice improvement.
Last August, I bought him a Kenwood in-dash receiver. It's a pretty nice unit with XM, hands free, CD, etc. He really likes it but the past few months we've had trouble with speakers cutting out, particularly the driver's front. We replaced the front door speakers a month or so back. They were a nice upgrade but that wasn't the issue. Today, we pulled the bezel off the dash and slid the head unit out of the dash. While it was playing I started wiggling/pulling all the wires. I found the problem. When I put the pigtail from the radio together with the pigtail Crutchfield supplies you to connect to the truck's harness, I used the heat shrink crimp connectors. Somehow, I had a bad connection. This made me a bit poochy lipped. I ended up re-doing the whole harness. I soldered each connection and then did marine grade heat shrink. It turned out nice. Problem solved. Now I don't feel so big on those solderless connectors. For those that haven't used it, the marine grade heat shrink assortment they sell at Harbor Freight is great stuff. We used a bunch of it on the Camaro. I soldered everything on the Camaro except for the Weatherpak connectors. I may go back to doing business that way after this experience.

We didn't build any pillars for them Steve. The pillars are ceramic and have a small slab of granite sitting on them. They were in Mom's place and ended up over here after mom passed. We have a large covered patio that we spend a lot of time on. We had a large gathering a year or so back and the pillars got set up for more counter space. Sean painted the doggy door and steps a few weeks ago. Here's how it all looks from my spot at the bar outside.....
The brown dog has become completely comfortable with using it. The white dog (mom's dog) is coming around. He'll use it coming outside but is still a bit scared of the stairs going in. I didn't think he'd come around at all so I'm encouraged.
put your poor little white dog outside and and let him now you placing a nice beef bone inside the dog door and that should cure the poor guy from being scared of the steps...
We've tried the bribes. No luck yet. Hopefully he'll come around with time.
