Jumped my JD mower using an RC car battery.

The little guy.

Discovered I'll be doing some work on the '14 Silverado's bed wheel arches after noticing two rust bubbles on the drivers side.

Makes me feel not so bad that my 04 is a rusty pile when peoples 10 year newer stuff has issues too!

Spent two hours installing my "rebuilt" hydro pump into my Marketplace find zero turn. I say "rebuilt" because parts are not available for this particular pump. I found the groove that that was causing the lack of pressure, machined the offending pieces flat, and reassembled it. Hooking up the hard lines is never fun, especially when I didn't even take it apart. The pump was disassembled in a bag when I bought the mower. Pick up some more oil, install the belt and pulley, and I can try it out.

My friend put some 850cc injectors in his CTSV in my street and then I flashed for it using the supplied injector data and we went for a ride. WOT AFRs were in the 11s and fuel trims were single digits. Then the thing fell on its face around 120 and when he'd lifted, AFRs were decidedly fat. The more we drove the lower the fuel trims went. It was pulling damn near 20% so I reduced injector base flow by 5%, flashed, and we rode again. At first, things were looking good but the trims ended up the same as we continued to drive. I'm thinking something is off, I've only changed flow rate and injector latency. So I pull 10% and no change. At this point I'm telling the ECM that a 94# injector is an 80# injector. So we're talking and grab the box the injectors came in. He got them from fuel injector connection. I pulled the injector data from fuel injector clinic. Whoops. Guess I'll fire them an email and do the job right. So I turned my focus to the red dragon and unboxed my C6 J55 brake calipers.

You had 1 job Advance Auto. 1 fvcking job. On the right is the correct part, and on the left is the POS I'm going to shove up their *ss tomorrow. Take a good, close look at the pad abutment bracket. One is J55 (heavy duty brakes) and the other is not. 2 different rotor sizes. These were mail ordered or else I'd have caught it on site.

Found out that it is pretty common for Farmall A front axles to crack around the kingpin tube, as it is just a 90 degree steel tube welded to the steel axle. There is a heavy duty cast front axle option that was available on later versions of the tractor and I may have a line on one. However, to convert to a HD front axle requires the matching longer kingpin that extends to the clutch bellhousing and the lower half of the steering gearbox housing which has taller kingpin mounts. Hopefully the seller has these.
