What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2021]

I always love your gifs and jpegs. On-point, applicable, and succinct. You must have them categorized on your computer somewhere. This one almost made me shoot coffee out my nose. 🙂

Dude,

I literally make it up as I go along. I always wanted to write for SITCOMS. Imagine what I could come up with if I used drugs and alcohol?

Spent the weekend pulling apart the front of the LS2 in my GTO to fix a shot O-ring in the oil pump. Its crazy how much headache a $3 O-ring can cause. Hopefully this will fix my oil pressure issues.

Rebuilding a carb for this Craftsman lawn tractor. Actually not my garbage for once. Belongs to an old coworker who paid $100 for it. It was sitting in someone's yard for a long *ss time. He wanted me to get it running, now I just need to get it out of here.

Saw a $150 Massey 7 garden tractor pop up on the face space today with a sticky engine and looked at it. Pictures online were really flattering but it person not so much. It was a rattle can resto with overspray on stuff like the handles and painted over some decals. I was looking for something original that just needed quick polish and a rod bearing and crank or something. Worst case it could be a parts machine for Dads 10 that has some broken plastics but this one was in just as poor of shape with cracked parts so I regretfully passed.

Just a couple of at the curb shots of my Non G-Body G-10 Chev Van. Drove it to work this AM and it performed well. Still have to re-re-re-visit that Fi-TEch throttle lever and lose at least one of the shaft mounted return springs. They are just way too stiff and make feathering the throttle or getting an easy or gentle tip in during pull away a monumental PITA to achieve.

Sigh.

So, I'd been pondering picking up an awd challenger because it'd be a good long term idea to have another 4x4/awd in the house if I go though with a relocation...

I took the wife to look at a new 2021 frostbite blue after dealership hours just to get an idea of how the paint looked in person and what not.

My wife saw a different car and wandered over to it.... pre-owned.... had 1600 miles on it.... that would only run asking-price $11,000 extra. But it's a 2016. And it's Plum Crazy Purple, what first attracted her to it. Annnnnd while I was walking over she got excited because "there's angry kitties on the fenders".......

So. Now I've got her lobbying me to take out a loan and "buy a kitty car".... sigh. Basically the exact opposite of my motivations.

I should tell her we'd need to trade in one of her mustangs to make up the difference, but, that wouldn't be well received considering everything is paid off right now so it's not like adding an auto loan breaks the bank

Eh, less physical abuse, more like she sits down and eats then tells me if I'm hungry make myself something.

I'm going to drag my feet and hope it sells, then use the excuse 'it must've had a deposit on it when we went honey'

Any chance you can buy the "Kitty Car" and then stuff an all wheel conversion under it?? She gets her new play toy, and that makes her happy. You get something to wrench on, which may or may not please you but offers the opportunity to try something difference. You can tease her into the drive train upgrade by pointing out that it will make her kitty car an all year round snow cat!
