What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2021]

Sacriligious?? That descriptor brought a smile to my face, for which I thank you, mostly because there is very little going on in my life right now that would do so. Not having been around when you started your thread, I did go back a page or four to the pics of the wreck between the U-haul and the focus. That was you, no? Seem to recall seeing a pic or two of some nastiness that I thought was structural to some degree; could have just been a couple of layers of panels having a meeting of the melds. You being from Des Moines 'n' all, and that being rust belt country, gotta wonder if that quarter is the only panel on the car that got some creative attention from a gallon can of filler? Still, if it fills the bill and does what you ask and want it to do, like the song said, "Don't worry, be Happy."

Going back several posts I remember saying that the 429 would make a great truck motor.

The car itself I would crush...........minus the C6 and 9” of course.

I still believe said 429 would make a stellar truck motor

tbh if the car was as bad as my other t bird (rip) and my truck was 4 wheel, I would. but then again i wouldn't have driven 550 miles and almost died to get it. but its too much effort to go from Fe to 385. plus these cars are dope. and everytime i took mine anywhere people dug it.

they built a bar across from my grandma's house and christmas of 2015 i drove it there. walked out after to see two drunk guys oogling the thing. they asked if it was mine. one guy was shouting
"THIS. THIS. I LoOoOoOvE THIIISSSS" in reference to the beak on the front. lol

plus even crappy ones look cool in black. any other color its meh.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you’re happy, then I’m happy.

BTW, FE to 385 is not a difficult swap in a truck. Hell it would make a good engine for your Regal.............

I for one think it is a very unique car. I would not want one, but I can see why you like it. I am interested in what you do with it. What is your plans for it? Also as I have said before. There is nothing wrong with your truck. It is not a good fit for the go fast world you live in Des Moines. Fifty miles from the rush and it would work just fine. I work in every corner of the state, so I know how it is. Good luck with your new toy!

Picked up ten FREE pallets from the local pallet place. I will be using them in my HF portable garage to keep boxes/milk crates off the ground. Just the ticket.

Last time I needed pallets I spotted them on top of a full dumpster, free fiddy! When I was done I put them back where I found them.

Pallets are your friend. The last time I did a pallet run, I was looking to build a floor for a shed that I had scored for cheap. Needed a second one to use as a stash for the growing collection of G-Body bits and pieces that I was in the process of accumulating. Around here the hardwood ones don't come out for recycle; they are usually rentals and the company that owns them wants them back. That said, there are still plenty of good solid softwood pallets or skids, that can be had for the pick up and take away. So I managed to score enough that I could cut them up and use the deck planking to make the floor the perimeter foundation was pressure treated 4 by's and I used cement patio side walk panels as the footers. Still have the shed, it still has that floor. A little older and greaser but hey, the POL keeps the rot and bugs at bay. Oh, the stringers?? Introduced them to my sawzall and laid the chunks on my neighbor for him to use as Bio-mass in his wood stove.

As for my non-g project, I finally managed to sort out how the rear socket for the new tail light/brake light harness. Instead of the jumpers being external, with this connection variant they are all internal and it uses a thin slice of perf strip to tie the pins together. It all seems to work and a volt check on the circuit came up clean. Tomorrow is make it pretty day so I can do a final full up systems check.
