Weekend was full of random house stuff.
Hooked up the trailer and off to me-nards to grab drywall and some joists to solve the sagging floor. I took backroads on the way home, lol. 16ft long boards on an 8ft trailer don't work that well lol. I got the stuff home though with only 3 cops totally ignoring my obviously mega-sketch hauling haha.
Sistered the cracked sagging beam with one of the 2x10's
Did both sides for good measure
And moved the can lights and hung drywall. I have never hung drywall before but my in laws were over and both them and my wife have done dozens of houses so it went pretty fast.
Sidelined as an HVAC tech too...
Also officially got my old heater out and the new garage heater running
The house has boiler zone heat, front of the house is on one zone and back of the house is on the back zone. Since the wife and I have been working from home for damn near a year since the 'Rona I spend my time in the back in my office and she's in the living room. I complain that the back of the house is cold and I tried upping the thermostat and it never worked. Looked at the zone valves and they both worked but the back zone didn't turn on the bump or burner. Asked Dad and he said that there is a microswitch in the zone valves that puke out regularly. I checked and yep, dead.
Ordered a new zone valve actuator and changed that. This setup is different than all the youtube vids I watched and when I removed the screws retaining the motor all the water from the system drained out. Ugh. BS'ed around with that for 3 hours trying to get the new actuator to seal to the old housing and getting all the air out of the system.
Swapped the charge pump too since the main shaft seal and bearings were weeping.
But the rear zone heat control works now so I don't complain about being cold as much as I used to.
