Painting is.... painting.

Trim is primered and getting topcoats in most all areas..walls and ceilings are either done of close to it. Beginning to look like a completely different house.

Checked the oil and trans fluid. One is okay, the other..... Could be better lmao.

Already got the 10W-30, but since I've never done a transmission fluid change in my life, I may take it in to get done, little nervous trying it on a vehicle that's being used all seasons, as opposed to the summer car.
Don't. If it's dark or black leave it. It's on borrowed time. Blood red to bright red is the ok range. Chamgingold fluid ruins automatic transmissions. Especially old ones.

If you must drop the pan change filter and gasket strain bits of dirt n stuff out of old fluid and put it back in.

Door panels etc showed up.

Too light in color imo but they're alright. Cheap as hell feeling but they're better than nothing.

Yes that's a pink bedsheet as a curtain.

It was either door panels or curtains

I've made my choice

Interestingly enough, it gets better fuel mileage than my Beetle.

Wife comes home and says "the low oil light is on in my truck." "You mean the change oil light, right?" - I responded. "No, it said: low oil." she says firmly. "F*ck!" I exclaim.

Almost 2 litres of oil later...

I jump in the TBSS to get the big one from school and find the SES is on. Turn it off and back on again. Nope still there. Plug in the scanner and get a P0333 for knock sensor 2 circuit high. Clear the code and immediately go into boost.

Hey, CK 80, appreciate the reply and the line by line breakdown. I can see your point about sanding that water stained trim. By the time you reached clean fresh material the boards might prove to be too thin to rehab. i actually went through the exercise of trying to get a quote for refurbishing my existing single pane windows by having the sashes recut to accept double pane inserts. The vendor seemed more eager and anxious to get me to buy new; just kept dancing around the idea of a rehab. Also wanted to quote the whole house instead of the selected windows that I wanted to get done. Ended up shelving that thought for the present.

May also have to shelve my bathroom work as well. Spoke with a couple of the local building supply vendors and learned that due to shortages in supply, the price for 2x4's has risen to around $10 bucks each, tax included!! I was looking to buy 40 construction or utility grade 8 footers for the four pedestals i have designed and at that price it looks like this is me moving on to plan ? as 400 dollars for the poorest grade of wood being offered for sale just plain sucks!!

Threw a second lot of sanding at the fairing inner faces using 320 wet and dry and did it wet to keep down the dust. Wiped it down and let it dry, tacked it off and shot more flat primer. it needs another coat before I go 400 wet and then shoot the semi-gloss top coat.

Made a pair of stub axles from 5/8 th's NC capscrews and proceeded to plug them into the axle body for my mig bottle dolly project instead of trying to drill the shaft for quick pins. Stuff likes to break drill bits and fishing the stump of a dead bit out of its hole is a drag. This way give me a good shoulder for the wheel hubs to ride on and thread so I can use nylock nuts to keep the wheels on plus set and adjust the amount of tightness I need without locking up the movement of the wheel. The next step is to shape the ribs for the dolly and I can use the actual tank as a jig for bending them. The curve doesn't have to be all that close as the diameter of the tank can vary from capacity to capacity. The sole plate will have to wait until I can score something that can be whittled into a useable shape.

Not sure what you have around locally, but, we got to the point a while ago that it made sense to drop a couple hundred on a bench top electric planer and just buy seasoned rough sawn from one of the local saw mills. We've got two, in opposite directions from the house, each about 25 minutes away.

I priced the cost per board ft on the different sizes of lumber we would need as that seasoned rough sawn, and compared it to what the local retail outlets came in for finished dimensional, and it was almost 25% cheaper to buy the planer & rough sawn stock just for one load. It paid for itself in that first load of boards so from here on out its free - that means if I need any extra lumber it's likely going to save me 35 or 40%, maybe more depending where prices go.

Sure, there's a cost to our time using it, BUT, to me that's free - just need to cover consumables for the machine and electric. At about a 6x12 max capacity I can feed multiple boards through together side by side on width anyways, if not thickness. Real world I got down to about 20 ft/minute. Sure, they're rated in the mid to upper 20s, but it takes time to insert and line up new wood after the prior one(s) finish, stack things, etc.
