I wonder why it's hitting so much harder out east
Too many people squeezed into too small an area. One person on a crowded bus sneezes and the whole bus gets sick. Here in NYC I rarely see anyone with a mask anymore. My own kids have had it several times and say it was worse than the worst flu. So I will wear a mask like the Japanese and avoid people for as long as it takes

While not as densely populated as NYC, we do have Denver an hour north and I believe the greater Colorado Springs area is comfortably north of a half million. I would expect that to be enough to track with the rest of the nation. Unless the relationship to population isn't linear, then I could see the NYC area really having a lot more issues.

I wonder why it's hitting so much harder out east? I forgot it was a thing here.
Pretty much non-existent here, everyone just living life and enjoying it. I hear Sun (Vit D) kills it off so I'll park on the beach.

A virus will evolve and weaken, so it'll run itself out. Human body gets it, kicks it, moves on. I have my thoughts as we all do so I'll support anyone to do whatever you feel you need to mitigate anything you might run into. I've been avoiding people since before social distancing was a thing..people are over rated. 🙂

Yes, we have a lot of stupid people. You have to figure with 8.5 million that even if 1% is completely stupid, that means there are 85000 idiots running loose at any given time. It is actually odd that there aren't more disasters here. When you see the news with gunshot victims, car crashes, muggings, knifing, fist fights, slashings, hit-and-runs, then put it all in perspective of the 8.5 million, we are actually pretty safe here. Until someone sneezes.

Whew, I'm glad you survived it. Too many people think it is over but the stats say too many are still dying. Maybe not stacked up like cordwood, but any deaths are too many when it is avoidable. I still wear a mask out in public and I haven't had so much as sniffles in all these years. I am doing another headliner. This time on my '00 Jeep Cherokee. But the color is impossible to match. The seats and trim are Agate which looks black, but the headliner is a greyish tan. It looks grey indoors but tan outdoors and the body code is useless. It is dark and dirty so I think a charcoal or black will look better longer. The shop-vac makes quick work of the old foam. The Cherokee backing board is thick and stiff and looks like it has fiberglass re-inforcement. We can only dream about having that grade board for our cars! I would love to make this Jeep board fit the Bonnewagon. View attachment 208934View attachment 208932
Have you got access to ordering from a jo Ann's fabric warehouse? They keep books in stores to order from with samples, and, will drop ship mail to you a rolled section of fabric. It's where I got the match for my 85 bird. Reasonable price, and, when the first roll showed up with a crease in part of it they sent out a second roll free.

+100 on hearing that you and your family got through this okay. Agree on the "quitting smoking" idea. The air we breathe is hard enough on our lungs without adding any additional sh*t to the mix. As for coffee, one a day, just like the vitamin. There has been something of a recent shift in attitude towards coffee in the last year or so. It has gone from being a health hazard to being somewhat beneficial in small amounts. Think the suggested daily limit is three cups or less and all before 3 pm as it takes about 8 hours for the stuff to cycle through the digestive system and get discharged. Of course if you prefer espresso, aka high test, then all bets are off.

The chalky taste in the Pedialyte is probably some variant of Gravol; something to settle your stomach down so it will accept and digest the fluids. There is actually a version of Gravol that has codiene in it as a sedative. No good for me as I am allergic to oral codiene. The only way the Kvaks can get the stuff into me is via I-V.

Caution here. Just because the symptoms seem to have subsided doesn't mean you are over your brush with the devil. This sh*t can flash back on you. That is why the FDA is so hyped on another round of shots. Just me being personal here but I did go out and get mine just as soon as I was eligible. Too much internal damage and too many meds to ignore it all. If they come up with another shot set during the winter, I might even venture out and get that too.

One cup of coffee in the morning is good to get stuff moving...
That's me- coffee, bagel, poop, and I'm good to go all day. My gastro guy says I'm in great shape down there and keep doing what I'm doing. CK80 we have Jo-ann fabrics here but they are pretty expensive. I use a place right here in Queens so if there is a problem I can drive right over and square it away. But they roll it around a tube, tie it off, and wrap with very heavy plastic. The last time it was in perfect condition.
