Haha, nothing on your level. Was actually more of a smart *ss remark since this is the first of the white stuff we got for the year that stuck. Everyone around here loses their mind like they have never seen it come down.
Exactly, rears were still good. This is the second pair of fronts I have had to put on in a year, first ones they warrantied out and thought it was a fluke run of bad ones from Cooper since the guy picking them up said he actually had picked up a quite a few recently for warranty. Now I am not so sure about that, but will have to stop being lazy and see what all is going on with the front suspension to see if there is anything causing it. I would understand if it was balding one spot on the tire, but pretty much the whole tire was going bare.

Ended up with a new 12ga Shotgun on a trade that has a defective part in it, figured that out during testing it out earlier so I'll get with the company and get that figured out on Monday.

More work on the snowblower. FML.

Go to take rip with the ol' General and she's kicking the auger belt off like a mule and had no forward motion. Whhhhhhhyyyyyyy?! After hours of struggling and fiddle f*cking around with things I realized that:

a) it is kicking the auger belt off because I tightened up the chain, thus loosening up the belt, and any misalignment was now enough stacked tolerances to create the nonsense;

b) the lack of drive motion was due to a lack of belt wrap around the input pulley at the transmission.

So what do? Take the ideas from the back of the mental filing cabinet and get to modifying things.

First order of business was to make a pair of roller followers to help maintain belt tracking when the tensioners are idle, with the one at the rear going to the drive input to serve as a means to achieving more belt wrap (supercharger logic). The factory guide pins/fingers were never meant to ride on the belt. Second was realigning the tensioners. Last up was to make a non-abrasive guide for the back of the auger belt... this had been exposed threads chewing the back of the belt since new. Those threads were also very short and the auger belt would slip to the wrong side with stretch and wear.

While I was doing this, I am happy to report that Natasha was successful in finding me a handful of new belts. I am also happy to report that it kept the belts on. Yippie! But, of course there is always something else.

It kept getting stuck in all of the deep loose/powder due to a complete lack of traction. Frustrating to say the least. This is a direct result of the fact there is no traffic going back the shop... so nothing is getting compacted. So I spent a couple of hours hand-bombing more snow to clean it all up.

Time for some help.

Blew another $600 in rando parts for the orange Camaro, tail lights, lower column plate, fuel pump/mounting plate/pushrod and a new mirror for the other Camaro I'll be working on.

Whats the wheel/tire sizing on this thing BTW?

I finished up the brake rebuild on my '99 OBS truck....
*Rotors
*Calipers
*Pads
*Wheel bearings/seals
*Hoses
*Master Cylinder
*Rear wheel cylinders
*Rear shoes
*Drums

Well there still seems to be some post work diag effort needed. Bled all 4 corners per usual. Did 3-rounds after purging all air from the lines first. Sprayed everything down w/some brake clean so I would have dry surfaces when leak checking. Took a couple laps around the neighborhood. Stopped as expected. Re-checked for leaks & found 1 area where there was moisture (front driver hard-line to hose connection). I re-cleaned that spot because i couldn't tell if it was some remaining fluid or an actual leak. Master cylinder volume looked good.

Did a couple more laps w/o issue. No visible leaks/moisture from seeping brake fluid upon re-inspection. I stopped & had some dinner @ my local pub. Was driving over to my GF's house & when I slowed to turn onto her street the truck shuddered. That's definitely new. My mind immediately went to 'ABS' shudder as the default issue. I parked @ her house, grabbed a flashlight & inspected all line connections & bleeders. Everything was still dry/clean. The fluid is still full (same level).

I guess tomorrow @ lunch I'll pull the wheels off & check braking surfaces for moisture or fluid. No dash board MyABS warning either for what that's worth.
My progress follow-up on my OBS truck.....

This week I pulled the front wheels to check the wheel bearings & calipers to make sure nothing was overlooked again. It was also an opportunity to swap one of the caliper bolts that was suspect on one of the calipers (allen socket surface was rounded). Next day I pulled the rear drums & re-checks things.... All looked good. Drove it a couple of days to put a few miles on the set-up to see if things improved (I might drive it 10 miles/day @ most). No improvement.

After some discussion on the truck site I frequent (67-72chevytrucks), it was mentioned to check the run-out on the rear drums. On Thursday I swapped the old drums back on to the truck & my pulsations/vibration when braking was gone.

This morning I took the 'new' drums over to a buddy @ the Ford dealership he works at & put them on the brake lathe to see how they looked. Both were ugly. Three passes on each cleaned them up to an acceptable level. I went back to my shop & swapped old for new again. Took it around the complex neighborhood a few times & all is good w/no vibrations.

Or, you could just go back to the original plan and throw a plow on the TBSS until Natasha consents to a utility tractor or bobcat.... much less work.
