What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

Fixed the leak on the Lacrosse today. Had to clean a ton of caked on grease and grime to actually figure what it was. Used up two of the big pro cans of brake clean. Turned out to be the oil pressure idiot light switch. Easy fix.

Also added a strut brace that I got at the junkyard a while back. I think it came from a Monte Carlo or maybe an Impala? Just had to drill for the studs. I don't expect any real difference in handling but it isn't gonna hurt anything. Afterward I gave it a good cleaning and got the first round of winter grime off of it.

Have you tried the blue can of professional parts cleaner? That's my go to anymore.

The CRC cans that say "Pro Series" on them? I haven't used the blue can but I used one red and one green for this job and they worked great. I definitely like the large can. The underside of the engine and transmission could probably use another can worth of degreasing. I'll have to see if the parts store has the blue one in stock.

Yeah it's the big pro series can. I actually have one red and one blue right now.

Fixed the dryer.

what was the permanent fix? replace the thermal switch?
I believe it's the thermal cutoff switch. Room temp it should be closed circuit up to 155 or so then open and keep it from overheating. Room temp it was open. Dried my pants so I guess it's fixed. 😀
