What did you do to your non g-body project today [2025 edition]

It's like 99% crossover/interchangeable between 800/900.
Front bumper, mounts for the ITBC crap are different.
900 rand metric thread brake lines vs SAE on the 800s, the 900s have bigger harness packaging for all the extra crap.
My biggest concern was front frame horn body mounts.. the 900 have a taller cooling stack than the 800s do

right, I'm just surprised the two frames were practically identical in how you mount the body. that's not usually the case when you move between generations

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMT800 (99-07)
The GMT800 introduced a three-section frame system. This could be mixed and matched depending on the wheelbase, GVWR, and body type fitted to the platform, rather than a single-piece long frame. The front section was hydroformed, while the middle and rear sections were roll formed or stamped, depending on application. This gives greater flexibility to the platform. A total of four front modules, seven midsections, and four rear sections were designed, and supported nearly 40 truck configurations.

Kinda strange the way they worded that as the GMT400 (predecessor to 800) used a 2 piece frame, not a 1 piece. But I am curious if any pain awaits with getting the bed on this thing.

imagine taking the front/middle section for a crewcab, and the middle/end sections needed for a longbed (which was not an option for 1500 at least). a longbed extracab/crewcab would be nice, instead of a single cab longbed

After a ECLB/CCLB 1500?
Would just grabbing trans xmember back of a RCLB frame . Line up rear cab mounts notch frame accordingly under the cab..also get the 36gl RCLB fuel tank as well

well, today after the New Year fest. I had to wear clean clothes for a while but I did manage to begin to reinstall my throttle cable to carb linkage. On the car it had a 305 now a 400. with fitec tbi.
we had to lift the TB 1/2" ON AN ALUMINUMM SPACER.
Put it all back in then the throttle cable stuck to the cruise control arm and stuck the throttle open.. OOOOPS.
so we're relocating the throttle cable today

Even with a heated garage and projects to contemplate, I am not anywhere near eager to be outside even for the brief few steps needed to complete the transit between house and shop. It is so cold that the crows can't smell their dinner that currently sits on the mezzanine steps for them. Don't blame them either.

It does look like CK80 did see some merit in my suggestion about resetting this thread to reflect the new year. As for combining "doing" and buying" as they pertain to the Non- G-body projects, if it can be accomplished without someone becoming confused as to where the mia thread went to, have at 'er.

Put the wife's Blackstone together. Couldn't let me put it together in the basement where it'll be stored but in the living room. Yea, they all have a level of crazy, gamble to find out what level.

been working on the snow plow and finally got a coat of paint brushed on.Ain’t pretty but snow doesn’t care! Went to pick up the truck it’s for from the body shop (full paint job, bed replaced with Arizona one as well as the back extended cab doors) annnd well it decided it was cold enough to need a battery. Not to be out done, after checking multiple other items, the fuel pump that may be original died. Going to get it to my brother’s shop and get that fixed 🤦‍♂️
