What did you do to your shop today?

20 inches?? So at one extreme you bake, and at the other you find yourself with an instant swimming pool that lasts about a day or two before being sucked up by the ground. 1200 acres is a bit under 2 square miles if memory serves, so yeah, close to being enough room for a long gun range. You'd have to berm it at some point just to be safe but that is a date for an old backhoe or a D-series Cat with a blade and both of them are useful for site clearing and digging holes. What's the default or standing depth for the water table? Most drillers charge by the foot so a deep well can get expensive in a hurry, especially when you factor in travelling time from the nearest settlement.

Still, if you went and bought those collapsible foundation forms that you put together like lego blocks and fill with concrete, you could erect yourself a decent foundation fairly quickly. Just have to make sure they are square in all axis and heavily supported during the pour and set process. The mix would have to be tweaked to allow for a slower curing process due to the sun, but, hey, still doable, if you dig that way to go......................

Getting a used backhoe for DIY and getting rid of those pesky bodies in the trunk..🤣

Why bother with the stink and decay? Just make the hole big enough and pop the whole car in it.

Disclaimer Here: At no time should anyone anywhere think or believe that they are being encouraged to bury anything automotive that might have been used as a container for organic leftovers. This discussion is nothing more than whimsy that has been leavened with wry humor and a major dose of irony. Nothing to see or hear here folks, just move along now...............................................😉.

John Banner, in his best persona as "Sgt. Schultz! The show was called "Hogan's Heroes and ran way back in the 60's. Total tongue in cheek send up of the WWII POW experience.

In retrospect, I don't think a lot of the Flight crews who managed to survive being blown out of the sky during raids over Europe exactly appreciated or approved of the show. For many it was arguably too soon and for many it was a topic that only got discussed at the VFW and then only with those who had also been there and understood.

Humor comes in many forms and has always been a way to deal with reality when reality has become too harsh to endure.

did you know that all the actors who played Germans (Col Klink, Gen Burkhalter, Schultz, Hochstetter) were Jewish? and they got to portray them as buffoons!

Not surprised to learn that at all. If you harken back to the golden ages of comics and stage humor, A major niche in that genre was held and defended by Jewish Comics and Comedians. And polite humor?, no, not really. A lot of what they used for material had its roots more in satire and irony than in the "knock-knock" sense of the schtick.

Having three Jewish actors take on the roles of Germans in a comedy based TV show would be one version of ultimate ironic humor that they'd relish taking on.

Took a scrap piece of wood and made a place to hang my big wrenches.
