Actually it made noise on decel and after I pulled the driveshaft I could move the pinion 1/8" in and out. I guess these huge axles actually do wear out. It just takes 300k miles worth of work to figure it out.

So much space, you need more toys to fill the voids.

So I've been shopping for air compressors for awhile now and had a hard time deciding on capacity and such. I've been using a 3 gallon pancake HF unit which will barely air a tire up. After talking to our resident compressor expert Donovan, I settled on getting a 60 gallon since I know it'll serve me for years to come. I found a Husky unit a few weeks back that was normally $559 but reconditioned and on sale for $279. Figured it was a good deal so went by earlier and the lady scanned it....comes up $139!!!!! Come again, sure enough it was clearanced out so I paid for it real quick!
Gotta wait for delivery, and in the meantime get my garage wired up, I'm not a house electrician so gotta get that setup, but helluva deal!!!!!!

I think I had just enough real estate for my new compressor (should be picking up later today), but didn't wanna stymie myself. So I undid what I've done and tore my workbench apart, and shortened it about 9-1/2" which gives me enough breathing room. That sucked though!

I would have suggested putting it in a small shed type closest in the yard and piping the air in so you don't have to hear it

Eric, that was original idea but the wife wasn't having any part of it. We'll see if she changes her mind after hearing it for awhile lol.

Yeah, put it on the house side of the garage; it won't last long!
