on my compressor I switched out the motor for a real 5 hp motor with lower rpm and it really lowers the noise.....

So I'm venturing into new territory and doing house wiring. I started by picking up some supplies to wire up the compressor. I still need some EMT to run everything, but so far I have the compressor plug wired and ready.
Today I went to a Parker fitting store and attempted to buy filters locally, but that was a joke! Not only did they not have anything in stock, the price for one was more than I could get both for on ebay!!!!! Anywho, I have a filter/water separator and a coalescing filter on the way. I consulted our resident compressed air genius RKTPWRD and went with his recs.

Is EMT required by code where you live? I'd use some MC cable in the required size. It's way easier to use and is rated for surface exposure in garages and such in my area. Have to get a cutter but still better than bending pipe and pulling wire. I'll agree that the pipe looks better though.

cleaned up this sty a little bit. Still have some piles on the tables to sort thru but got them all in side by side which is a first. tossed a bunch of scrap wood and moved things around. gotta change the PS pump on the GP, get Dino back on the road and the Cutlass road worthy again for July....

The new welder showed up tonight, UPS was late as usual but its finally here.

So far I am extremely impressed. It was packed super secure, buttons and controls feel nice, came with a quality flex head torch, foot pedal and has advanced features found on really expensive machines, works 110 or 230v, and had decent leads included.

I'll test it out tomorrow.

Been kinda dormant on anything shop related. Too busy to address the hot wheel/brake issue before leaving for camping last week. Then I got sun poisoning at the lake (totally my dumbazz fault).
However, the wife said she ordered something for Father's Day but it would be late and not to look at the bank which scared me a bit. Package showed up yesterday and it's the most awesome gift ever!!!! Proudly hanging in my garage, and I couldn't be happier!!!!
