I meant to ask you what kind of tires are you running and are you happy with them?

Thx!
Very happy with them. They are Fuzion ZRi, but no longer in production. I think Fuzion was a Bridgstone house brand.

I am leaning toward Nitto Invo or 555 G2s now but the BFG Sport Comp 2s are still on the list.
Those BFG sport comp 2's have a decent price, aggressive looking tread and rank pretty high in comparison test of similar models. Love the look of the 555's but can't get the size i want for my new front wheels so gonna go with the bfg's.
Tirerack has a video where they did a test and the sport comp 2's came in 1st in almost every test, just fyi.

Well, I am going to get some 17s or 18s but now am waffling back and forth on getting [4] 17x8 4.0BS with 255/50s all around [yes I know I may have to alter some things up front to go that wide] OR go with a staggered setup with like 18x8 4.0BS up front with like 245/45s and maybe go 18x9 4.5BS in back and try to get some 275/40s back there which may cause some alterations in back. I waffle because I like to rotate all 4 tires, like a little more sidewall, and frankly just would like as much steering tread up front as possible too. But, would also like to get as much rubber as I can possibly fit in back to help solve my severe traction problem.

So, didn't want to start a new poll . . . just voice your opinion is fine.

17x8s with 255/50s 27" tall
18x8s with 245/45s and 18x9s with 275/40s . . . all 26.7" tall

I'd go option A. If handling is your goal, more rubber up front is what you want. When autocrossing you likely won't be full throttle that much and an extra 20 mm won't make that much of a difference.

Thanks, I am a little ignorant on what staggered does to handling? Most true sports cars have staggered setups but also notice UMI just puts same width all around.

Also, was editing when you posted. I didn't check before that no one makes a 275/45/17 so that will require 18s instead.

I'd say option A as well, but maybe put a 235 or 245 on the front to avoid clearance issues. I have 245's on my factory 14" rallye wheels and only clearance is at full lock due to them being a 60 series which makes them bulge a bit. When i get tires for my new 17's (17x7 front, 17x8 rear) i will put a 225/50 and 255/45 or 50 which is still wide enough to play around since the sidewall is stiff. Hope this helps.

I have always considered staggered to mean different wheel diameter rather than tire width.

Generally speaking, you want to put the widest tires on tall/wide wheels for better handling. Wider tires give you more grip and taller wheels generally results in a stiffer sidewall.

Yeah, I don't have rubbing with my 245/60/15s I have now though I haven't pushed it [like at the margins of an auto-x run, etc.]. And, I am not lowered 1-1.5" yet like after the Eibachs install. They might rub up front then?

I struggle so much with traction that I would love to get some 275s out back so I am kinda leaning toward that 245 front 275 rear. Only about 1" difference in width front to back and only about 1/2" in back from just 255s all around. So, I could literally just be pissing on my shoes here stressing about this??

It will or at least should look slightly better staggered. This Camaro is supposedly a 245/275 stagger on the same wheels I am now leaning toward.

Think these would look nice on my gray/silver. Might even toy with getting some 442 gold accent on them.

You can fit 275/40/17 or 275/35/18 on the FRONT if you use a Ridetech Musclebar. That would give you the same size all the way around. It's what I'm doing. Well actually I have all the suspension, just need to save a lot of cash for the 18x9.5 wheels and tires Hahaha. So currently I'm still using 16x8 with 245/50 all the way around.
