HIDs are for douche bags... Driving around with low beams HID are WAY brighter than normal high beams. I can't even tell you how many accidents I've almost had being blinded by ******* with HIDs. The worst are BMW's and a Mercedes' I want to rig my car up with like 10-12 forward facing Hella day lighters just to night blind the sh*t out of people with HID head lights and see how they like it. And when they crash I'll turn around, pull over, and beat them with a pipe.

I hope they make HID lights illegal... Don't convert regular lights are plenty bright.
X2 for me, especially the *ss holes with jacked up trucks that like to ride your tail on the freeway, with their Hid lights shining in your back window and mirrors. :soapbox:

I guess you missed my post about the lenses I run for my HID's and why I run them....

If you really want to screw with people do what my buddy did to his jeep.He put a 28v aircraft landing light on his pushbar with twin batteries  Way better than a set of KC's

Re: Which way did you guys go with the sealed beam headlamps

theyre ''autopal'' brand which are made just like Hella, IPF, Bosch, CIBIE theyre made by he same facility with the same quality theyre also sae and dot approved they have a real metal reflector and glass lenses

- Advanced Optics using Multi Surface Reflector provide a more uniform, controlled, precisely focused beams resulting in brighter and even illumination on the road.

- Brighter efficient beam pattern and maximum light illumination due to High-Quality Clear Glass Lens

- European Style beam pattern with a sharp cutoff

- High quality metal reflector. Will work great with any HID kit

Re: Which way did you guys go with the sealed beam headlamps

I bought a set of Silverstar low beams, for $19.99 a piece at Autozone, and it was like night and day difference.
Very crisp, bright lights. Well worth the money for me.

Just my $0.02..

for my jeep I'm going to get nighthawks...I have used silverstar on my GP before the hid and they burnt out every 4 months but they had a warranty for a year ....oh and the price of those silverstars here north of the border is $31.99... :|

Re: Which way did you guys go with the sealed beam headlamps

$31.99......that's rough! and I hope mine don't burn out in that timeframe, because I won't put another set in if they do!

Re: Which way did you guys go with the sealed beam headlamps

apparently they have put a warning on the box saying somethign along the lines that since the intensity of the lite is higher don't expect these lites to last as long as a standard lite...

and for prices we get raped up here and then taxes kill us

what part number are those hellas and do they throw a pattern beam. I had the cheap chinese lenses that threw the light all over the place so I bought hellas but they don't look like yours...mine are like these..

Hella_UN6207211_6.jpg

Those are nice but why aren't you using HJD reflection sleeves on your lights to help aim the light?

Re: Which way did you guys go with the sealed beam headlamps

reflection sleeves are not on aftermarket bulbs as far as I know and that is why the lenses take care of the beam. Plus even with a vehicle that came with hid's the OEM hid's are rather on the expensive side and that's why you see some of those vehicles out the blinding people. I have bi-exenon for my hi/lo and that has a metal cover for the bottom of the bulb which retracts when going to hi beam so the lite then is reflected off the bottom of the lens. Also the cheap lenses are cheap for a reason, the silver reflective material starts to peel and corrode after a few months, they don't fit properly and rubber grommets are need to stop the lens from flopping around and the lens has to be sealed or when it is raining the lens will fill with water....the cheap lens do come with what they call a reflective sleeve but they are useless...I tried the lite with and without and no change...
