69 GTO with a particularly vicious 400.

I had my 78 Elky at the same time. Honestly the GTO just didn't speak to me like the Gbodys do. Strange as that sounds. It was moslty transformed into a drag car. Had drag shocks up front, sumped fuel tank, 5/8 fuel line, a giant Holley electric pump, 456 gears, th400, 295/60/15s. Just a converter or trans brake away from daylight under the front tires. You didn't dare to give it more than 1/4 throttle until it was going straight or you would be pointed the direction you just came from.

I don't like dedicated race cars so I would have had to drop the gear ratio alot as well as do something about that damn fuel pump droning away on the frame. It broke both motor mounts, the trans mount, ate two th400s, and twisted the center out of the flexplate. Violent little b*st*rd.

I get it. My cousin in PA has a '69 Cuda- same thing- all out street racer. I plead with him to restore it to a cruiser but he won't.

I ended up trading it for a truck. When I think about the car or people ask if I'm sad it's gone I only wish I had it to sell again.

And, BTW, I will never use Enterprise Rent a car again for wrecking a perfectly good 69 442. Yeah, I know, 69s had the tractor motor but it WAS still a nice car. COMPLETELY uncalled for!

The jump/wreck was 100% digital . No '69 442's were harmed in the making of that commercial.

I wouldn’t think modern graphics digitalizers would even know where to begin on a 69 442.

You want me to make a what?

If that is actually true, I will still not rent from Enterprise just for thinking wrecking a cherry 69 442 digitally was even OK. But I am sensitive about all the legendary Cutties (in case you couldn’t tell??)
