essentially an auto tech. split the shop into two teams and working 6 days on, 6 days off. we've been busy enough to make hours on the days we work and are expected to collect unemployment for our days off.
wife still employed and is telecommuting.

Does that actually fly there?

The one time in my life I collected unemployment (working as a carpenter), I got chastised by the staff for claiming a full week of work after 2 weeks off, followed by another week off.

Boss had just waited to pay until we had enough hours to make a full check, claimed we had a job come in that lasted the week.

Luckily, the work climate improved after that, never had to file again

I do half time working on my research project. Usually I am at the University but with that shut down, I am doing all of my work from home, which is a shift since half of my duties were to run lab tests. My coworkers and I are still getting paid, but we were supposed to move into our next stage of grant funding next month which we cant because we can't run any of the lab tests and collect data. Need to show data before the rest of the allocated funding is unlocked. Thankfully my professor/manager budgeted well enough to pay everyone until September without the next chunk of funding. So far work load has been different but still busy. As long as stuff clears up by August I am OK.

Other half time is grad school classes which although is different, still continues.

Wife works for a large PPE mfg in project management that got the Defense Protection Act thrown at and works from home also, and is as busy (if not more) as she usually is.

For now at least all is quiet but OK with us.

I work in power infrastructure so no, not me ... I should have stated that Monday is the beginning of Week 6 (not Sunday at 3:30) so sorry for not being clear

For telemarketers, before caller ID I sometimes started speaking nonsense -- or answered their questions but in a different language, that was always fun -- and make them hang-up.

I always tried to get them with a Bofa or ligma joke especially if it says scam likely on caller id.

It's not really training if you are not driving with all of the idiots that are usually on the road.

Fair point. It's nice not to have to deal with all of idiots right now though. I passed my solo test Monday and I'm on the way to pickup my truck today. It's a 2019 Frieghtliner Cascadia. It should have pretty low miles on it.

Are you going long haul, regional, or local? I'm wondering, if you spent two weeks with a trainer, you might be going long haul? Long haul is nice for singles, I did that for two years, and saw 8 SW states. I drive local now, sleep in my own bed each night.
