I'm 21, bought this 1987 Monte Carlo SS car when I was 18 all stock with 100,000 km on it, so far I have put a chip in it, true dual exhaust, flowtech ceramic coated headers, K&N filter, Mallory electric ignition, super 44 flowmasters, b&m megashifter, b&m trans cooler and aluminum rad. Of course also a complete sound system upgrade, JL speakers and subs 10", two alpine amps a mono block and 4 channel, custom box and a Panasonic touch screen DVD deck.

I am currently building a 355 in my garage which will hopefully be in the car this summer, full roller comp cam xtreme energy cam, edelbrock rpm airgap intake, Mallory hei distributor, Holley 750 double pumper, the nice gmpp Chevy dress up kit, weiand aluminum water pump, and hopefully soon some AFR 195cc street aluminum heads.

Future mods include complete hotchkis or edelbrock suspension kit, 17 inch american torq thrust II's, rear disc swap, strange axles, a rebuilt 200-r4 with a shift kit, cowl hood, new seats of some sort, black interior change.

I am currently working as a part time student in GM's oshawa plant and proudly building the new camaro which is amazing by the way :) and am currently apprenticing to be a mechanic!

PS ricers suck :p

I just turned 22, Ive had a few civics, and turbod dsm cars, which I can honestly say I love, and I am lookign to get another one, but, Ive also had a few domestic cars, iroc z, el camino, dart swinger, nova, satellite, and the ss.

But I gotta say, I am a huge fan o fthe SS, and its probably one of the only cars Ive owned that I honestly loved to drive!

Heres it is before the wheels and springs, I love it!

i would drive an import (nissan only) and i would prefer a 1999-2003 mustang, but im kinda stuck in the gm department cause thats what i was given. my daily is kinda a ricer, its slow as hell and has only won one drag race (agaist a civic).... i really dont see whats wrong with imports, lets face it, unless you get a charger, mustang, camaro(f-body in general), or corvette, the domestic car industry has not made a car worth buying since the g-bodies. (i will allow the srt-4 and cobalt ss to be allowed in the "buy-able" category though).
(im 16 btw)

Deadtofall - you might want to get some cheap Mr Gasket wire separators/looms and separate those ignition wires, bundling them together could be a problem

See that's the problem when someone labels someone else a 'ricer'. Cuz just about everyone respects a modded rx7, skyline GTR, turbo supra/3000gt, nsx, and others. It's not that they're ricers, the owners are either more mature or know how hard it is to build a car so they're not going to embarass themselves racing every car on the road with a fiberglass hood. They also know their cars have some value so they try to keep em simple without crazy graphics and LED exhaust tips.

I've seen just as many american car 'ricers' than japanese cars. It's just the person not the car, and in my opinion it's even more annoying when people have an old stock camaro, or sebring, or cobalt etc who play like their cars are faster than 10 sec 0-60. Then go spending a grand on stickers, wheels, seat covers, and LEDs.

See, I have no problem with people with stickers and leds and wheels, because not EVERY car was meant to go fast. and as long as the owners respect that and know their limits of their car, I dont have a problem with making a car look sportier, or more luxurious and stuff. But the ones who add a body kit and a fart can and think they have a race car, are the ones that piss me off.
