Went hunting at the local pick and pull, and found a complete set of nice cloth seats to replace the ratted out leather ones in my Jeep. Also found that the airbox hat for a 2nd gen dodge dakota will bolt directly onto a standard 4 barrel carburetor. This is quite nice if you want to convert from a standard air cleaner to an air-box type, or you just want a cold air intake on the cheap. You can also use a ZJ grand cherokee airbox hat if you have a really tight clearance to the hood. IMG_20190407_174311.jpg IMG_20190407_174402.jpg

Put new flooring down in the 1st floor hall (been putting it off since the fall when we bought everything.) Really proves my house is as square as a foot ball. The hall gets 2" wider was you go from the kitchen to the end of it, the bathroom door frame is off set by .75", none of the door frame are even. I really like to know how off the squares & levels were when ir was built by the original owner 65 years ago.

Took down a tree with a buddy Friday after work.

Used my rainier as a land anchor/motivating pull since the tree was on the wrong way of the hill. City took down the big tree for free, suggested the other one come down too since it was split and the previous home owner screwed it together with threaded rod. Neighbor wanted it down too since it was going to fall on his house if it split. Wasn't going to give the company that the city contracts to cut the big tree any business since they left a 5ft tall stump because "there was dirt in the crack from the split". Decided two 25 year old engineers can make something work.

80ft of 1/4" cable, some towels to absorb the cable if it snapped, and a crappy china 18" craftsman chainsaw.

I was busy this weekend.

Her 14 fusion is about the 100k mark and it got the trans flushed at the ford dealer 2 weeks ago. They said the rear brakes were shot and needed new pads and rotors because they were grooved and were under the turnable diameter. I called BS on that since she got the car at 55k and we havn't touched the brakes since.

Min was 9.5mm and they measured 11.8, too small to turn BS. Best part is I have a lathe so :)

Co worker bought a old 3pt tractor mower at an auction cheap that had a siezed bearing. Seal surface was destroyed so we turned it cleaned, put a bushing on to rebuilt the seal surface and press fit it on.

Ran over a big *ss screw with the right front tire on the Outback on the way home from work  Luckily I heard it making noise before I got too far away. I pulled over to see what it was, once I saw it was a screw, I did a U turn and went right back to work, took the wheel off, unmounted the tire and put a plug and a patch in it. These tires are only a few months old so that was pretty agitating. At least it hit the tread and not the sidewall.

Got better news from the tax lady than I was expecting. Went to the bank and paid off the loan on my wife's car.
