I call dibs if it does go for sale. Thats exactly what we had back in 78. No gauges and had the poverty caps.
How about a picture of it in the middle of the restoration?

And where did you find the material for the seats?

Here is my 78' Grand Am. I bought this car in 2002............and shortly after did a body-off. Along the way I replaced the 301-4V with a Pontiac 400-4V. Last year I had the seats reupholstered in the original material. I live on an island in the North Atlantic on the east coast of Canada. I know of one 79' GA that has been sitting (rotting) for years. Other than that..............I don't know of any others. BTW............she is not for sale. View attachment 82955
Now THAT boys and girls is what I am talking about.............look at that................stunning.........what's not to love about this car?
Oh the hours I spent making mine look like this back in my garage, my first garage in 1978. Using Wesleys Tire Bleach to keep the white lettered tires looking great and hours on hours polishing it until I would scare myself by seeing my reflection:cool: in the paint. Beautiful ride Don57.

I think you would have better luck finding a Lemans with all the stuff your wanting than a grand am now a days.

Thanks for the suggestions but there is a saying, the heart wants, what the heart wants.
Maybe when you are 66, you realize how many times you have compromised. At this point in
life, I'm okay with waiting, and if it isn't meant to be, then I am okay with that. I do not need the car,
it's a want. I have realized in my late years you can't go back to certain things. I can no longer do
activities that I used to excel at. I can no longer drive tractor trailer due to a vision situation. So for me,
I've settled for what today is giving me. I appreciate what I have, and if I never get it again, I am okay
with that too. Just my life's philosophy now.:D:)

Basic difference is the VIN and nose/header assembly. Also GA had a larger front sway bar, quick ratio steering box, belt molding and pull straps to help close the doors. That's about it.
Thanks for posting the picture. I don't think I've seen a 78 GA in that color. I have seen 5 or so 4 door Grand Ams with buckets and console.
Pretty cool option in a 4 door.
