People are just strange! Tri-chevies, vettes and stangs get all the attention at shows. I have 8 cars. One is a 71 torino gt conv in bright red with black top and buckets. Its one of 1613 built and only about 300 remain. One of 9 in my state and according to the marti report 1 of 1 with these...
Bladder stone? I think you mean kidney stone. I've had 3 over the years. First one was small passed it within an hour by drinking plenty of water. Pain is severe! Second one pain was even worse! I held an ice pack on my kidney until I got some pain meds in the ER. After an all night IV, I passed...
Not to be a dick...but all el caminos except the first 2 years 59 & 60 are based on chevelle/malibu.
And there weren't any 64 mustangs. They are all 65's. Yes some refer to the early ones as 64 1/2 but they are registered and were sold as 65's. The difference in what some call 64 1/2 is the...
I thought royal knights were black?
Anyway el caminos were introduced in 59. 59-60 were built on fullsize impalas. GM dropped them for 61-63. Brought them back in 64 on the chevelle/malibu platform where they remained until the end in 87.
First gens 59-60 are a little hard to get parts for as...
I think it might have something to do with GM themselves. I have an 87 GP built in Canada sold in the US that came with a 305 chevy. So an easy upgrade for me would be 350 chevy. But yeah a 455 pontiac would be nice!
My elky isn't near as nice as yours but I think what happens at most shows is people are drawn to what's out of reach to them. You know like the exotic or impractical cars that they dream of but will never own. Along with those, they are also drawn to cars of their past. Something their...
Yeah I know and most times you can't find them even if you wanted too.
Remember back in the day when no one wanted anything made in Japan? Now you'd be glad to get it. China will get eventually.
Isn't China a wonderful country?! Nothing against the people. I know they're are amongst the hardest working, most underpaid in the world. But the manufacturing standards need to improve.
Or maybe its from Mexico? Same story there too.
Just blame it on us fat, lazy Americans.

Just a suggestion...don't remove the filler in the 1/4 panel to roof seam. That should be lead from the factory. You can go over it with plastic(bondo) but if you remove the lead and only use plastic it will eventually crack.
Wouldn't that be a 4th gen? What was the first year cutlass? I'm thinking early to mid 60's? They were the square ones. Then the 68-72, then 73-77, 78-80, and 81-88. Right?
Looks great! Are U gonna replace the seatbelts,as well? :?:
Thanks. I'm not sure. There's enough black on the dash to kinda make the black belts look OK. I guess whoever ordered the car new didn't think to get matching belts. If I could find a set of dk. carmine belts I'd probably grab 'em...
Pulled the seat, rugs and door panels off my 78 elky. Cleaned up the floor, removed all the old cracked joint & seam sealer. Painted the floor with silver POR15 and sealed the seams with 3M Fast n' Firm sealer.
Recovered the seat with a new PUI Dk. Carmine vinyl cover and installed an ACC...
I saw an el camino sitting in the weeds in a tow yard last night. It has what appears to be the same turbo hood scoop as a similar year monte carlo. The small hump off to the left side of the hood. From the street it doesn't look like an add-on. Did the elky have an optional turbo in those...
