I'm building a 78 Cutlass Supreme for drag racing. It has two jounce bars that run from the engine crossmember to the frame rails near the front sway bar. Should I leave them on or remove them ?

This is what I did to my 78 Cutlass Supreme last year. Went very well.

Picked up the 78 Cutlass up from having a 6 point roll bar installed Saturday and painted it today.

Made a heater block off plate, still have to paint it. Loaded the car on the trailer to take it to have a 6 point roll bar installed Monday.

Got both doors on and aligned, both seats in, they are out of a 98 Sunbird or Sunfire. Bolted seat tracks from original seats.

Welded up the doors on the 78 Cutlass after removing the crash bars a few months ago. Put doors back on and got the adjusted. Now have to weld up the drivers door jamb sheet metal where the striker is. Hinges sagged so bad that it cracked the metal around the striker.

My 81 is a 3/4 ton, has 4.10 gears.

81 C20, ugly but works, will be putting the 350 Chevy out of the 78 Cutlass and a 700R4 in pretty soon.

Extracted the crash bars out of the doors of the 1978 Cutlass Supreme. Gutted the interior and trashed every thing except the dash and door panels. 13 years of mice living in the car. Plan on putting a 6 point roll bar and bracing up the frame some, maybe a mini tub. Will be putting a 455...

I've seen them up close and they where pretty clean cars at one time. I had a friend and his brother both raced, my brother owned one for awhile and had another friend that built engines for some of the drivers. They liked the cleaner cars, less body work until the started racing them.

That's the way it is here. There is a few running around but most have been used up as stock cars. LaCrosse Speedway is 20 minutes from me, then Wisconsin Dells, Tomah and few others that are an hour or so drive. I'm not into it but have seen a lot of nice sheet metal get destroyed.

What has anybody done to clean cloth seats, carpet and the rest of interior of a car that has been sitting for 13 years with mice and maybe other critters living in it? Is it possible? The carpet, headliner and seat covers were all replaced around 16 years ago so they were nice but faded. This...

Pulled the plugs, cleaned and re installed. Fixed the broken wires and put on a new cap and rotor on the 78.

Put the Olds in the garage to pull the plugs and check the cap, rotor and change the oil and filter, clean the carb.

Got the 78 Cutlass Supreme that was given to me running today after it had sat for 13 years. Just running off gas that i poured in the float bowl of the Q-Jet. Surprised it started an ran because three plug wires where broke in two.
