1973 Trans Am with an ASC Power Sunroof

I just came across this picture of 1973 Trans Am that has an ASC power sunroof, I don't believe I have ever heard of them as an option so I wonder if the dealer sent it to ASC like they did with my Monte to have one installed.

When I got my 73 it had a sunroof but it was from rust

Coolio. Never seen one of those with a proper sunroof that wasn't done by Bubba and his friends that ended up looking like a porthole on a sub.

Maybe someone knew a guy who knew a guy... it's happened before.

Dealers did that through out the 1970's and 1980's for extra cash. They didn't have to send it to ASC, just a local ASC dealer.

Probably the same shop that put on the body side moldings and thought Rear bumper guards looked good.

I hope they put in frame connectors when cutting the roof, the rear bumper guards were a factory option

I know, but who would check that box? only the "I want every option" guy or dealer that says "I want the most mark up possible".
