1980 Pontiac LeMans Station Wagon - G-T-faux (stuck with it, and can't shake it... like a bad case of herpes)

Runs and drives. Still have a few bugs to work out.

Got the trans mostly sorted out. Be careful using other people's tunes as a reference - I grabbed a few tables from a Sloppy Mechanics tune and the pressures were jacked the **** up (I have no idea what Matt was thinking or willing to live with). Put those back to stock and added some torque management in 1st to remove the donkey kick on the 1-2 shift. Otherwise the pressure is tracking with the calculated power model. I also had to dial back the minimum PWM apply from 90% to about 1/3 that - hit so hard it chirped the tires in 4th (triple disc converter problems).

The other interesting thing is the amount of airflow increase this thing is seeing - I think we found all the missing power - and it is still pig rich. But, we'll see.

Why are most of my photo shoots at Walmart?

Hopefully I fixed the HVAC leak (rain dripped onto floor board) with a big fat bead of seam sealer across the top (there was an exposed hole). One more thing off the list... and off my mind.

Projects. Real projects. Are never really done.

Looking good Mike. It's great when you can change the trans controls without dropping the pan!

I dig the GTO theme going on. Did I miss where you modified the frame rails to fit those steam rollers under the rear?

Thanks! It came with "the Judge" decals on it, it was that theme that inspired me to buy it - I've just taken it further.

The frame notch and mini-tubing happened before I brought the build thread here (and here it remains with exclusive updates).

Bit of a learning curve with the 4L80E vs the 4L60/70Es I am used to working with. Both the software and driving characteristics. So tuning it to taste is taking a bit longer than expected.
