No matter what you will need a new gasket.

If you have some rubbing alcohol put the spark plugs back in
sit the heads compression chamber facing up.
pure the alcohol into the chambers and see if it leaks past the valves

Ok so i think u meant for me to place the head this way......

And #1 seems to not hold the diesel very well.

new guides
replace damaged valves
clean up mill

Can't i do the grinding compound thing to them?

yes you can, remove the valves so you can see what you need to do. For the valve guides you can check them to see how much wiggle room they have
