Factory crate, picked it up with less than 10,000 miles for a $1000, it's the 502 HD was in a old motorhome 16,000lb. My car appraisal guy had it sitting an had all the paperwork on the engine when he replaced the old 454.
Are you sure it is a tall deck?

Go big or go home!!!!!!!!

Yup, deck is a 1/4" taller than my 468 or 496. Already looked into it as l was going to put fuel injection that's on my 496 on it and found l need the spacers for intake.
Have you checked casting numbers on the block and heads? The power numbers you stated are for an H/O which seems like an odd match to install in a 16,000 lb RV and from what I remember the 502 H/O came in a 9.80 deck

To be honest no l haven't checked the casting #'s and l am going on memory of the card he had on the engine an it also said HD. I had no reason to doubt him l've known him for years and he's in his 70's. I've driven the motorhome and l know with his enclosed car trailer on it she will put down rubber if you stomp on it at a stop, actually kind of funny.

I was just over to Summit site and seen afew 502 around the same, HO, HT but didn't see HD.

When you get a chance I would verify the casting numbers, at least you will know for sure what you are working with.

I must Thank-you for adding to my issue, lmfao!

I will check the casting # because now l'm having questions more so!

1 fact l'm certain of, my EFI BB intake won't fit without spacers as the deck is 1 1/4" taller so l need spacers. It was measured for height after l was told by both the previous owner and a mechanic buddy of mine both said my intake won't fit. It has a quad on it with electric pump.

I had want to take the EFI off the camaro because it's just to much power for the camaro but l didn't want it sitting on a shelf too. Yes l can detuned it but why waste the EFI then.

If there wasn't a foot of snow on the ground l'd be pulling the cars, bikes and atv's out of the shop to get to it in the back corner!

I am not doubting it is a tall deck, it's that it is actually a tall deck 502 that I question.

So what is your thought?
Based off of the power numbers matching the 502 H/O make me feel like this would be a misapplication for the heavy RV since the factory used a cast iron 325 rectangle port head to make those numbers and I would expect anything put in a RV to have a 275-290 oval port or even peanut port to make the power it needs down low.
Do you know the year of the RV or what gen. the engine is? And was this factory fuel injection that was on there?
