Re: 81 Century/GN Wagon Update 7/7/14 Chassis assembly!!!

i think it great that you are doing such an excellent job in such a small work space. It helps hinder the "excuse finders" for not getting projects done. I would count myself in that "excuse finder" group from time to time. Great job. Keep up the good work.

I appreciate it Mac.

I did get the roof in epoxy, and the firewall primed, painted and cleared.

Looking good Jim!

I got more progress, got the door jambs sanded down and in epoxy, fixed the rot and filled the marker light on the PS quarter panel, did some body work and got that in epoxy. Finished patching the roof, used my stud gun and shrinking tip to get it as flat as I could, then did the filler work and got it in epoxy. Welded in the trim rivets on the side glass frames with the stud gun. Seam sealed all sorts of sh*t to replace everything I ground out, like the drip rails, gas tank door area, etc.. Didn't take a whole lot of pics since I have been blasting through this to try and get the body back on the finished chassis in 2 weeks time.

I have the AC box painted and refurbished. All new parts and strip caulk, looks great! I installed the AC box with a new gasket, and masked and used new 3M black seam sealer to go around the perimeter. Strip caulk was wrapped on every fastener going through the firewall to ensure a leak proof installation. 😀

Re: 81 Century/GN Wagon Update 10/30/14 More metal work!

sorry for the crappy pics!

Re: 81 Century/GN Wagon Update 10/30/14 More metal work!

Lookin good, Jim!
Where's the foam around the heater core inlet?! 😛

I'll be doing my firewall too once the front sheet metal is out of the way.
I'm pretty lazy though, so I'm planning on just doing it from the floor/cowl seam and up... I also don't feel like pulling my engine out...

Re: 81 Century/GN Wagon Update 10/30/14 More metal work!

Blake, after I took the pics, I put some foam in there. After I customize the heat shield, I'll take another pic.

The firewall was a pain, there was all that hard sh*t around all the holes. But after cleaning and blasting and a bit of filler, it turned out good.

Scott, it is getting cold here fast, I am working as fast as I can to get the body back on the chassis.

Jack, as always, thanks for the compliments. [emoji5]
