Watching you tube videos on setting up the timing on the 350, think I got it where it needs to be. On compression stroke, will have to get some new angle head leads for it to clear the headers. Got my timing tab today hence sorting this & got my heater pipe fittings also, just waiting on the trans parts then can get it together and see if she fires up. Control arms are at my garage hes going to press is new ball joints & bushes when he gets a chance, probably be a bit slow going from here but she sure wont be sitting for another 2.5 years with noting done. As the parts etc come together they will be going on her (y)

Just back from a holiday to Australia, been away a month & glad to be back. My local garage is starting to sort the front suspension arms with the new bushes etc soon & i'll have to sort that trans, everything's here for it. Just in catch up mode here so once caught up i'll be back into it  (y)

Been a while but my garage guy's been busy, just got the call to pick these up. New bushes & balljoints all pressed in, so coat of paint sometime soon & i can finally start putting the old girl back together at long last👌😎

Question for those in the no, this was a v6 wagon. What i'm hoping to find out is about the front springs, want to lower this but not excessively. If i whacked one coil of the front springs would that sit at a decent height, being in New Zealand i cant just go buy lower v8 springs for her.
Any info would be much appreciated Cheers

Don't cut anything yet. The coils will drop with the extra weight. Put it all back togther with accessories and fluids and then see where it sits. Changing springs later is not a big deal.

The big thing is the ride with the V6 springs with a V8 in it will be how it handles. It will dive on you braking and feel spongy into corners. I would think a Holden of the same years would have similar suspension. If it has A/C it has to be allowed for( additional weight).

Page 8 on the Moog listing for stock springs will give you rates and sizes. The Summit page gives you the match of car with a V8. You can see if any Holden’s have similar or trucks for that matter (4x2). As for lowering you can use Summit or Jegs to work out the ride hight. I believe there is a spot in the Tech area that someone did a work up on how much to cut off equaling how much drop you’ll have. https://blueovaltrucks.com/tech/pdf_documents/MOOG_Coil_Springs_Spec.pdf
