84' Cutlass pro touring build

Happy Thanksgiving to all... don't think the Canadians among us celebrate today but be thankful anyway for the freedom to share our passion.
Working on the hood for a few days this week. Had 3 coats of high build primer and started blocking with 220 and on to 320 and 400. Before I finished blocking i figured I better cut in the vents in case I have any mishaps. Still have to dress all the cuts on top and underside. Vents are just dropped in obviously and not set perfectly. There is some leeway in all directions. Moving along.

The common answer but sometimes Mother Nature has a surprise for us.

Not going to wash it either?
Pretty sure they make some type of rain guard. Seen them for a few setups. Washing it shouldn't be an issue with judicious use of the hose.
A little water shouldn't be an issue. Time will tell.
