The only problem is somehow I threw my L5 out of my back due to an ergo issue working from my couch last week (man my 30's are going to suck lol) so I am taking myself out of car commission for at least a week until my body parts are back in the place they are supposed to be. I think my wife is going to lock me in the house for a month if I get caught doing something that could injure myself again in the near term so might as well tackle some backlog of ECM tuning, CAD design & more desk related projects I guess.
I feel that pain lol.

I disagree with avoiding surgery at all costs. Avoid a fusion, sure, but I got a port and polish and have been good to go since. Get an MRI, see what's really wrong, see what your options are, and make an educated decision. I was not going to live my life for the rest of my life the way I did before my back surgery if I had a choice, and I did.
I agree that living with that kind of pain is not living. Every situation is different. To me, decompression therapy is best for herniated discs.
Heavy work throughout my life has left me with bone spurs up and down my spine. Most discs are shot
Fusions make it worse because joints above and below see more stress.

Doesn't mean you don't need a trip to the frame rack, they don't make 'em like they used to ya know. ;)

I had a microdiscectomy on my L5-S1 about 6 years ago now. Was about to go hunting and not return the pain was so bad. I'm 95% better on good days, 75% better on bad days. I pay much closer attention to my body now and can deal with issues before they become bigger problems...

Trying to get the studs replaced so I can drive the car before Midwest salt life kicks in.

Good news, plenty of room

Impact socket clears pretty ok. I might turn the OD down at the very end so it doesn't rub the wheel. A standard 7/8 chrome socket fits fine.

I feel like you might be overcompensating, but I also wanna see you try and bend those. Lol

5/8 were the same price as 1/2 and I have an excuse to use my lathe so overkill it is!!!

Aways flexing the lathe, and our inadequate metal turning abilities. 🤣

Looks good, and you have influenced me to get a set of shank lug rims from the get go, thank you for trailblazing that failure for me. 😘
