HUGE UPDATE!!!!!!! Y'all know I've been fighting the high idle issue, so been reading and reading and reading!!!! Did some tests last night and everything checked out.
Well, driving down the highway this morning I had an AHA moment!!! The Holley intake requires a 3bar MAP sensor, but the loaded tune is for a 1bar MAP. My theory was that as soon as the engine hit idle the ECM couldn't read the MAP signal and spiked like a vacuum leak would do!!!!
So, after consulting with MHM it was determined I had to make changes. Luckily I had my TPI harness and 1bar map handy, so I swapped the sensor and pigtail over, rigged it with a tee fitting, and BAM!!!! Even squeezed in the time on my baby's 5th birthday!! Sucker sounds mean azz hell with the cammed 5.3 and open headers!!!!!! There are a couple minor leaks to address, but let it get up to temp and idle is steady, oil is 50psi, and the stainless headers are turning which is awesome!!! More tuning required, but here y'all go!!!!

SUCCESS!

I told you it was that one red wire over there.... 🙂

Awesomeness !!!!! Maybe others can chime in here but I'm pretty sure running open headers can screw with things also due to the O2 sensors location. It has been recommended to have at least an 18 inch pipe beyond the sensor... fwiw... I'm sure such a short run time wouldn't harm anything tho

It is currently set up to run in Open Loop - O2s aren't being used yet.

What Mike said. Once I get the leaks fixed and seats bolted in, I'll start doing some logging. The goal is to log, adjust, log, adjust, rinse and repeat. Get it as close to stoichiometric, then switch it over to closed loop and allow the O2's to correct and command as necessary. It will have exhaust by then hopefully, even a ratty setup. I might put some high flow cats on it for now to keep down on the smell some.

Congratulations Scott!

I know it’s been a real struggle for ya lately, but you’ve persevered and powered right on through all the obstacles in your way. I’m extremely happy for ya brother, and can’t wait to see how the next chapter unfolds!
Way to go man. Really.

Figures, I once again stopped getting notices on various threads, yours being one (not since the 12th). But, just got caught up. Hearing your baby fire up the first time is . . .

Crap your pants 😱 :poop:
Holy $hit 😳
It’s running . . .

So happy for ya dude!
