BUILD THREAD 87 Cutlass EFI build: 9/13/23..NEW STUFF!

I'd lean more towards the cutlass myself
I hear that....im more of a cutlass guy, i like the regals but people here in KY try to clone the GN too much nd don't do it right. Had a guy one time at a cruise trying to convince me his white turbo t type was a GN!!! Pissed him off when i started hitting him with g body knowledge lol! My car wasn't there, just walkin around checking out the rides....he was an older guy and i guess he thought he could fool me!

Btw, that 78 cutlass is nice, but needs WAY more love and attention than the white regal! Parts are harder to find, more expensive.....however it is a complete car and decent foundation to build on.

As long as the body was semi complete it'd be easy enough for me 🙂

Oh it's complete for sure! Prolly needs roof repair....you can see the rust where the vinyl top is messed up....but hell i put a whole new roof skin on mine so anything can be done given the time, $$$, and patience. The 260 would get pulled though for a big block olds if it were mine.

I also always ditch vinyl tops. Only one I ever left on was a different 86 cutlass that had a style of top I'd never seen before or since. Had a stainless strip across it and the vinyl itself looked more like a convertible roof in the way it went down the QP and around the quarter window

Rust repair is easy for me.....I love sheet metal fab 🙂
My 87 has had plenty of metal fab done to get it to the point it's at now! I also love metal fab....wish i was more skilled at it, but i have great help. Check out the beginning of my build thread, you will see what all has been done.

I also went to school for paint and bodywork. After seeing me fabricate patch panels for several vehicles we worked on my instructor told me I had the highest level of natural ability in that area that he'd seen

Well santa, i mean my in laws were good to me lol! They asked what i wanted...told em parts for the blazer brake swap, or be able to go pull the stuff. I started hunting and found a good blazer extreme and hammered down yesterday, as well as a quick trip this morning to get everything!
Calipers are in good shape, i was gonna use them as cores for new units, but I'm just gonna clean them up, paint em, and put em on. Same thing with the hubs, gonna get some of them riffraff fittings, lube em up, and see how they feel.

Note: sometime later this year i will have a complete oem front brake setup for sell! Everything is fresh and the rotors/calipers/bearings/pads have maybe 10 miles on them. Powerstop drilled/slotted rotors and z36 evo pads.

After getting a better look at the blazer calipers i acquired the other day i feel more confident that i can clean them, paint them, and use em without buying new ones.
The brake system on the donor was sealed up still resulting in clean fluid that was in the calipers which tells me the internals should be corrosion free. Also, the piston seals look good as well.
I will upgrade the bleeders to speed bleeders, new banjo washers which is common, some decent rotors and pads, and slap em on.
Guys, tell me what yall think....like i said they look good, just helps with some gearhead opinion.
