That Straub kit is nice and is cheap insurance. I put it on the Avalanche engine. Keep the pics coming...looking good!

Much appreciated man! Trying to knock this out one thing at a time. Hoping to get more paint prep time in this week. No parts purchasing for a few though....the daily needs tires🙁!

So I was able to get off work early today and put in a few hours wet sanding on the Cutlass! I got both bumper covers done and ready to be jammed in color tomorrow, and some spots on the car were sanded as well. I forgot to take pics before they were put up but no biggie!
My bodyguy did get the backsides of the bumpers shot in hotrod black. The fronts were wet sanded, then shot as well. He wet sanded them again to make sure they're super smooth and we hope to finish them tomorrow....
I also learned that my fiberglass skills are anything but lol! I filled in the header panel where the hood ornament and trim was, but i guess it didn't like my prep job and started cracking! We fixed that issue and got it shot in some high build. He is gonna try to prep it in the morning and re-jam in color hopefully.
This pic isn't really a progress pic, I just think it looks cool from the back with the laydown SS spoiler 😎!!!
I'm planning on getting over there tomorrow again for a few hours after work to wetsand some more. The progress is going, just have to keep up and hope to see the car painted soon!

Alrighty, update time! I went to my painter's place today just in time to see some color flying! Some spots on the car were shot in base and clear because they will be covered before the final spraying.
There is still alot of wet sanding and prep to be done before the car gets shot, but I'm really happy with how it's looking! The color is badass in the sun, and should look killer once assembled with all the black trim.

Thanks man! I'm stoked with how it looks in the light, and changes hues in the shade. It has a good amount of metallic in it, and should pop pretty good in the sun!

Ding ding ding!!!!! I intentionally took that pic and posted it to see if anyone would comment on it. Yes Jack, it's a '48 Austin. It's one of my painter's cars. He just got it drivable the other day. It's a pretty cool car. Has a Mustang II suspension, boxed chassis, 305 or 350 sbc with a th350. It's still rough around the edges, but unique!
