Very nice car! You should be proud. BTW, what type of hood hinges did you install? Look interesting. Are you satisfied with how they work?
Will the yoke bottom out on the output shaft of the trans or does it contact the seal before it bottoms out? It does look like it could be an inch or 1 1/2" longer, but you need to confirm that it won't bottom out as well. Bottoming out during a WOT pull and you'll be on the way to wrecking the motor and the trans.
If you have 3-4" of spline engagement it will work. More would be better though. Also, you really need to load the car with all of it's weight and get your driveline angles correct before you re-work it. Otherwise you might find you'll need to do it again. Setting the car on blocks, 6x6's or something so that all of the car's weight is being supported by the tires and it in neutral (rolling freely) to ensure the suspension isn't 'loaded' are ultra important before setting driveline angles.

Jim, it's not bottoming out and has what looks to be 3" or so engaged in comparison to the yoke length.
I'm not gonna worry much about it until I get the Cutlass running and see how it does. I need to get an angle gauge so I can check the driveline angle.
Thanks alot. The hinges are stock regal hinges that I had the strut mount welded to the hinge itself making it a one piece setup. There is a upper and lower ball stud, along with a short 120lb strut. It works fantastic with a glass hood, if I ever go back to a steel hood I'll swap out to stronger struts.

You happy with your fiber hood? I’d love the weight savings up front plus, if I go Holley EFI, I would like to swap to the “Air Gap” under it so will need the room. And running the CAI to the corners, the 2” cowl would allow for a nice heat exit ramp me thinks.
Yeah, I like the glass hood. However, if I do it again I won't buy from UP22. That thing needed way more fine tuning than it should've for what it cost. Also, I don't like that it only uses 1/4-20 mounting hardware...I just have to remind myself to be easy on it.
Is it me, or is it still high in front even after getting the powertrain in?
