beautiful car!! i've never been a fan of the chrome everywhere or the bigger rims but ive gotta respect the work youve done. keep up the good work

Thanks bruh!!! I appreciate that comment. Very classy and respectful. Even tho the wheel choice and other stuff isnt your thing, you still left a cool comment on the whole project. Thanks for that. 8) It really keeps me motivated to roll ahead with the project.

I swapped in some new wheel/brake cylinders from Napa. Just waiting on my rear upper/lower trailing arms to come in and the rear suspension rebuild will be done. I dropped the coil air bags in just for a few pics. My helper is out hurt so I couldnt start on the front suspension. Ive never tackled a job like that before so I will wait til he's better. I dont want to get hurt. I'll do some looking around the forum and research it. Cant be all that hard. Im doin a complete front end rebuild. Lowering springs, drop spindles, drop schocks, upper/lower control arm bushings, Hotchkis sway bar, idler arm, tie rods...The works. Im just worried about the coil springs popping out on me if I unloosen the wrong thing. Ive seen springs pop out of the hooks of compressors and go thru walls

Thanks for lookin. Hope to get the rear trailing arms in the mail soon so I can finish that all up 😀

THANKS!!! Preciate' the comment. Sweet lookin' SS you have in your sig. I cant wait to get to the paint stage 😀

My upper/lower trailing arms came in finally. I went with a "black chrome" finish. I got em from http://www.c3fab.com/index.htm

I also picked up the mounting hardware and had some Energy bushings pressed in. I wish they had the bushings in red, but its all good. I think the black chrome looks sweet. I'll probabably do my front control arms in the same kind of finish and press in some red Energy bushing. I got the front end torn down to the factory spindles so far. Tie rods and swaybar are out also. I forgot that I had changed all those parts waay back before the car went down. I'll clean those parts up and swap em over to my Elco 😀 Nuff talk. Here's some pics of the goods....Imma try to install em today after I drop my son off. Shouldnt take too long to do. Then I can run the lines for my coil airbags and pump-pump-pump em up!!

My goal is to get these installed and have the whole front end done by next weekend. Working nights and takin care of the kids leaves no time for much. But now that I know a lil about how to do this, I can chug along 2 hours a day and get it done. No kids next weekend so I should be able to finish it all up and get the old guy back on the road. If you guys have any advice or suggestions on getting the front springs out, shoot em my way. I see that the spring isnt as compressed with the front end just hanging there. Thats my biggest fear. Ive seen spring come out of compressors and do some major damage  Wish me luck!!

Re: 87 SS

...Jealousy lol, you have done just about every upgrade I plan on doing to my cutlass. That spectre setup looks great and the serpentine setup too. How does the car ride normally with the airbags in the rear? I have only seen them used for drag cars to launch better and more even.

Re: 87 SS

man this is crazy fam i swear me and you have the exact same rear end mods in our heads. all the things i want to do, you seem to do as well. like your TA cover i was going to buy that same 1 but had a change in mind because i don't want to be 100% the same as you. we both just started gettin doin on our 8.5 swaps right around the same time period. I had the hotchkis sways and energy suspension bushings and i see you have that as well now. i nearly copped that air bag setup to with the larger rims and all tryin to get the stance right is a big deal and im sure that'll help in that department. we both used the por-15 treatment on the rears. Now c3fab is a great company and Mike is super cool guy to talk to. as a matter of fact i'll be seeing him when i come down for the g-body run in april. the other big thing we have in common is that i to bought rear arms from mike just last friday and then you posted this on sunday. i was goin to just get the normal boxed 1's just like you but i went adjustable on the uppers and and black but not the chrome finish mines are just gloss. anyway 1 day im sure our rides will meet each other but until then keep it up warren. heres the pic of my arms i payed for on friday. i cant wait to recieve them!
