Thanks fam!! Man you are gonna love that POR-15. Hit me up when you get it goin. Wish I was there to help you out with it. Its damn easy to swap. Just take your time and keep it safe bruh. No need to rush. I spent a couple hours a day. Its finally in. Bout to post a vid in a sec....

That would be cool if you could. I'll tell you this, if i need a host for a show you got the job  good videos! Now im gonna get back to the vid i just noticed you in here.

Re: 87 SS

Looks like you're making some good progress!

At least it was just a 7.5 you wrecked... and it doesn't even matter since you already had the 8.5 to replace it!

Remember to get your driveshaft shortened 1" to accomodate the new rear.

Keep up the good work!

LOL! I hear that from all my homies. Tony teases me about that all the time. I should have a "Day 4" vid up later on today. The weather's been giving me a break. I only work a couple hours a day on it which includes setup time and clean up time. There's no rush. With it being at my bro's crib, I can get into the engine bay cosmetic stuff Ive been thinking about. I want all the holes filled from when I removed my overflow tanks and other stuff from the wheel wells. I also want the ac delete palte prayed a nice black-but leave the bowtie polished. Lil stuff like that can finally get done. Livin in this apt sucks for doin car stuff! :x

looking clean bro!!

Thanks T!!!! I went ahead and dropped the Belltech rear Nitro Drop Shocks and OPG 2" drop springs in also. Gonna finish it up today(Saturday Morn) and install the Hotchkis rear swaybar. Man I wish I had the Hotchkis upper and lower trailing arm kit. It would have been nice since I had everything out. Oh well. The cool thing is that it looks like I wont have to drop the rear again just to get those parts installed when I do purchase em...After we get the rear completely done and I can move the car, Ill start on the front end rebuild. I have the front upper/lower control arms, idler arm and all the bushings. Basically the whole front rebuild stuffs. Then I'll drop my Belltech Nitro drop shocks in, my OPG 1" front Springs and the Hotchks front sway bar. Might as well do the front brakes(new rotor, bearing and cup, pads, clean and paint the caliper) MAN!! This is fun stuff! And the best thing is that Im learning while saving a ton of Loot! Ive been uh "paying myself" $75 per hour just too see how much I would have been forking over. Can you say "Time to buy more goodies!!!" Yeah fam...These shops have been gettin over. If I can muscle the part off, I can install the new part and torque it to spec.... 😀

Thanks! Yeah I did a number on that poor guy. Should have at least checked the fluid level before heading out to AZ. But it made me get off my lazy butt and turn some wrenches. This is all new for me. I work nights, and with 2 kids the time to do stuff is a major prob for me. I had been taking the car to shops and was getting burned everytime. Not having a spot and tools to work on my rides didnt help either. My homies (Tony and a coworker) came to the rescue. T offered to store the ride so we could both work on it. I took it over to my co-workers house since hes 10 minutes walking distance from me. Now the car can sit and wait for me to get back on it. No rush and no "per hour cash" is being layed out 😀 Thanks for the reminder on the driveshaft. I've been worried about that and askin around about it. I see that there is a lil play in the driveshaft, and all I have to do is push it towards the trans and then pull it out. Should be about $80-$100 to get it shortened a tad and then balanced. Preciate all the comments and tips from you guys!

Thanks again fellas for checkin the thread out....Gettin a lil done each day and learinin a bunch!

DAMN!!! That brought a tear to my eye. Thanks Mel! Preciate those words. Man I wanna go polish on somethin in the engine bay now! LOL! Gettin there slowly but surely. Gettin "Learnt up" too!! 😀 Got a lil bit more done today. I know this could have been done in one day but I didnt want to wear my help out. I do like an hour or 2 a day and that includes settin up and cleanup. Rear is in and now I got the brakes put back together. I forgot to drop in my rear coil airbag kit before dropping the springs in. I'll take care of it once I get my Hotchkis uppler/lower trailing arm kit..

Gettin there. Droppin the driveshaft off to get cut down about an inch and balanced. Then I can double check all my work, bleed the brakes and give it a drive. I'll find out if I did anything to the trans when all that slamming on the brakes stuff happened on the way back from AZ. Sounded awful! But my machinist bud said that was all the rear gears grinding up. Wish me luck!!

Man I appreciate the luv fam. You and Mel have been swangin G body's for years. To hear you say that means a lot bruh. Im learnin and trying to get on yall level. Its got a looong ways to go, but with yall behind me pushing me to stay in there, its gonna be somethin sweet!....Snapped a few pics. I got my Hotchkis sway bar done. I had to re-do the rear drums. I had the pads backwards(smaller pad was in the rear) Fixed that and the removed the Belltech shock hardware and used the factory hardware. Looks cleaner.

Belltech Nitro drop shocks..

I picked up some upper/lower trailing arms. I'll drop em in along with my coil airbag setup. Then the rear will be done. This is such easy work. If I mess something up, then its on me. No more shops! Didnt get a chance to drop off the driveshaft. I was tired as hell from no sleep. Workin nights is a killer. Gonna try for today. After I get him on the road, the front tear down begins. Complete front end rebuild. Upper/lower control arms, Hotchkis sway bar, all bushings and ball joints, Belltech spindles and OPG 1" drop springs. The works! AND Im doin it all myself. It will take a while, but im saving a ton. No rush. I'll keep the pics and vids coming..

Thanks for lookin yall...

Re: 87 SS

Sweet update Warren. One question, how does the sway bar mount on the sides? Is it just like the factory where it mounts to the LCA or something else?

Thanks!! Yep..It mounts just like the factory swaybar did. I had to use the factory hardware for now. The Hotchkis bolts wouldnt fit in the holes. My new boxed arms should work with the hotchkis hardware. All the SS factory parts are gonna be swapped over to my Elco. Gonna clean em up and spray the swaybar and trailing arms a nice black. No real updates tho. I'm working on my bro's schedule. I did grab the driveshaft and will drop it off on Monday. Once I get it back we can drop it in and see what Happens....
