1/8" copper at about any hardware store. Buy new 1/8" compression ferrules from the same store and reuse your fittings. Should be less than $10. Bosch makes copper tubing kits with the fittings available at parts stores.

Or try this and keep the oil out of the car.

Most auto stores that sell aftermarket gauges will have a copper oil line kit.
This is the one I bought for my Regal from Autozone.

Are you saying 3 quarts of oil ended up on the carpet? When you had the car running wasn't the oil pressure very low or none at all?

It’s been a while since I’ve had it running. I guess it just drained out over time since the tubing was completely broken away.

I've never liked the plastic tubing. Just the idea of some sh*t made out of the same stuff as mcdonalds staws is piping hot oil into the car. I have a little console thing that came with my car that makes a convenient little catch tray for oil if it ever dares to drip on my carpet.

For cleaning, try your choice of laundry detergent and a pressure washer with a fan-pattern nozzle. It'll make it smell nice. Cleaned the hell out of my carpet too, and mine is the long wispy stuff.

Mild dawn dish soap, nice blue stuff, breaks down the oil nice.

Sucks that it went bad, but the gauge companies switching to the plastic stuff isn't surprising....

Copper is expensive, you add how much they save on each unit and it ends up big money.
