Biggest mechanical pet peeve

Actually I change my original answer to this. Half metric half standard. Has anyone ever made sense of it on these cars? It seems like most of it is metric but then they'll be that one bolt that's standard.

Typical GM The late 70's early 80's they just put in anything they had laying around.

Olds engines in Pontiacs, Chevy engines in Pontiac, Buick engines in Chevys, ETC.

our cars are not all metric
Didn't GM even mix and match SAE/Metric during the change over, my 88 is mostly metric but the occasional factory fastner are still SAE. The overseas parts suck and are now part of nearly every brand. Another pet peeve is how much belts stretch, 3 or 4 adjustments are needed and a belt about 1 to 2 sizes smaller than spec so I have enough adjustment. This including US made Dayco and Gates belts. I had a brand new Dayco serpentine belt that stretched so much on project nightmare that it lost tension and squealed under load.

Any time I get ATF in my hair, second to that is coolant on my skin.

I'm guilty of that, but I also can't remember my wife and kids names half the time too.
