they had rwd sc 3800s in Australia

Only because they're upside down relative to us. Anyway, don't do anyone here much good (especially when here is California).
 
There's guys that boost the 3800s in camaros. Anyway with the 4t65 setup there's only like a 35 HP parasitic loss to the wheels even with my HD dif
 
Yeah, but California is different. On the other hand, I did find out we can do truck motors, so I'm thinking maybe there's a way. Now you've got me started and I'll have to try to find out! 😀
 
A swap like my 97s is actually smog legal were I to install egr and a cat. Basic drive line was available in the same basic platform and year plus all of it is newer than the car. Oldest part is a trans from a 2000 gtp

In CA there are two basic problems, swapping the s/c 3800 into a G-body. 1) You cannot swap a FWD engine into a RWD car, mainly because exhaust between heads and cat must be stock for the engine, which is impossible for FWD in RWD car. 2) Australian cars were not certified for the US, let alone for CA.
