Wow!! That's quite a difference between the two input shafts. So you'll be adding a Gear vendors overdrive to the mix. You should have a nice tall cruising gear on the expressway.
How much does the driveshaft have to be shortened?..or has it already been done?
Nice work my friend. Sean and Dad are making headway on the body. Keep up the good work.

I was just wondering how this is called a 1/4 panel when it is 1/2 the length of the car...😀

That's what I was thinking. I figured that was one of the main reasons for the overdrive. I hope everything works out and you guys get both cars ready in time. Power Tour will be a blast. What color is the Galaxie gonna be again? I love that blue on your brother's Camaro.
Galaxie will be gloss black. Painted with old school Centari Enamel.

I'm not sure how much shorter the driveshaft will need to be. Maybe 4"-6". We will measure when the gear vendors unit is in the car and have a new shaft built by Denny's Driveshafts like we did on my brother's Camaro.

Jared,
It's going to look good all black. Centari dries pretty hard and is a nice finish.. I guess it's kinda like Imron paint...indestructible.

You could comfortably fit at least four teenagers in the trunk to sneak them in the drive in, back in the day. Dad said they did it.

Dad was painting his milk trucks with Centari back in the late 70's, early 80's. He loves that stuff.

A friend of mine painted a mutual friends old MG using Centari. The car came out really nice, too.
Sounds like your dad has had a good amount of experience using it. I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

You gotta love the trunk space in the older cars. I remember my dad's old '62 Chevy Belair. It was unbelievable what he was able to pack into that trunk.
It also reminds me of when we lived back in NY. There was a car blocking a neighbors driveway. It turns out there were two bodies in the trunk of an old Caddy...both executed gangland style.

Dad had a red 62 Impalla, 327 4 speed, 2 door sedan for a short while. Straight bench seat.
