Well i picked up my lug nuts on the way home tonight still didn't put the first 10 on. I'm hoping to use the shop this Saturday to get something done.

I worked a half day for my boss today well not even a few hours really. Then I took the opportunity to make some progress on the suburban. First I tightened up the wheels and put the center caps and trim rings. While I charged up the batteries. Once I had it off the jackstands I backed it in the shop to try and make the tailgate work.

I started by disassembling and assessing the one I bought for parts. It's way to rotted to be repaired so I went with the original

Pritty much everything in bolth gates is junk so I picked the nicest most complete junk and put it back together. The latches don't work correctly but I got it shut and the window is closed for the first time in 9 years.

By that time I was out of coffee and hungry so I took it for a lap around the building took some pictures and locked up and went home.

Well at that point may as well sell the grille/rad support/lights and swap on an earlier one. Get some $$$ outta the cow.

Sell that cowboy visor too, just use metal roofing screws in the holes...

No just the original plan with 3 coats of acrylic enamel single stage and maybe two tone it with some 1979 code 55 gm gold and paint the wheels that color two. If it runs and drives good. I figure besides time that will only cost me about $200-$300 now that I work at a shop I can use and the boss wants to see it done.
