The lock up is for the convertor only you will need the correct bracket for the carb and then have to correctly set up the cable, this is the part that burns up the trans if done wrong, search YouTube there are plenty of videos on doing this.
I just did this earlier this year with my 355 SBC install in my Regal that has a Holley and a 200R4.

What about using a space in between the carb and intake will that cause a issue?

Yep

if its to tall it will hit the hood

I mean for the tv cable,,I will have to use a spacer for the stock intake,I have one that is about a inch high.
I have never used an Edelbrock but if the bracket mounts to the intake and not the carb then you will have to raise it the same amount as your spacer/adapter if it mounts to the carb you will be fine.

Thanks man
On my Holley I needed a small linkage corrector bracket for the cable to mount to on the carb so the cable stays straight some carbs come with this built in so you will have to search if your Edelbrock needs one or not.

I assume not because Edelbrock sells the adapter for both the 200 and 700

So then you will need that and the bracket that holds the cable.

What happens if you can't get the Edelbrock to run right after swapping the carb, distributor and trans?

It's not IF but when......many have gone down this path and regretted hacking up their car with an Edelbroke
