Then I guess I wasted my time,,I hope that is not the case..As of right now the Edelbrock works good on another car.
I have no issue with the carb and distributor swap as I have done it multiple times but I do feel that swapping the trans and loosing overdrive is not the way to go, besides loosing MPG you will be putting more strain on the engine with increased RPM.
You can get a lock up kit for under a $100 for the trans.

I don't have a issue with doing the lock up kit,,,,I got confused with what everyone was saying,,..So all I need is a cable for the tv cable for the carb and that lock up kit you provide, correct?
I have a carb and a distributor I can switch the old one with.

You will need the bracket that fits the Edelbrock carb for the 200R4 cable and a lock up kit that will control the convertor.

Look man I didn't want to get on a forum in the first place because i seen how this stuff work,,,all i wanted was a answer to what I was trying to do and got tired of spending hours trying to research on my own and thought maybe there was someone out there who could help,..All I have seen is how its a dumb idea because its not the way someone else would do it.

And the lock up kit will save the transmission right?
The lock up is for the convertor only you will need the correct bracket for the carb and then have to correctly set up the cable, this is the part that burns up the trans if done wrong, search YouTube there are plenty of videos on doing this.
I just did this earlier this year with my 355 SBC install in my Regal that has a Holley and a 200R4.

People are suggesting against it because it's been done before, and maybe, ain't work so good. The TV cable needs to be setup properly on the new carb to keep the transmission from burning up. The lockup kit is to save the converter. Sorry, you're not enjoying your stay here at GBF.
