Got the firewall sprayed hot rod black. Its a Summit brand. I love that its a different shade than the frame. That way it does not look like I sprayed everything at once

Gonna have to respray the firewall. It looks blotchy and heavy orange peeled. I also had a horrible time with the reman brake booster. Its bare metal and covered in oil to keep from rusting. I wiped it down several times and it still kept fish eying on me. I finally used reducer, then laquer thinner, and then Sem Solve. Got a few coats of SEM etch primer on. I think I'm going to paint it and the engine pulleys single stage acrylic enamel gloss black. I hate to spray paint anything under the hood. I want it to last and resist oil and crap.

Son of a ,,,,,,, It cost a small fortune just to get the heat/ac box ready to install. Got a quart of matte clear and hardner to paint it, a box of 3M strip caulk, a new ac evaporator core, and a heater core. I cannot find my new (rebuilt) water pump. I'm getting the engine components out and ready to paint. Got pretty irritated. I went and got another one. Luckily it was under $20

If the matte clear is alot more expensive than the clear you can use clear fro a couple of coats and then just the last coat or 2 use the matte clear. We can't even get matte clear in Ontario, I had to buy the flattening agent at $83 a quart

Bummer about the firewall...

If you wanna get picky the brake booster should be that goldish looking cad-plated color... 😛
I think '84 or '85 was the year they started painting them semi-gloss black.

Keep up the good work!
I've got a lot of catching up to do!
