I feel your pain with the a.c. box, but in the end it is worth it. I used a flattening agent for my gloss clear, PPG brand, and black base. I base clear almost everything if I can.

Hopefully these little hiccups will pass so you can get done.

I've tried many gold cad paint tests and they all looked like paint. I'm going gloss black to get a paint break up on the firewall. I ordered two different brands of boosters at the parts store and they were both raw metal. Sucks because I want it gold cad

I got my engine sanded and painted GM blue. I painted the intake, water pump, fuel pump plate, and Proform valve covers separately too. The Dupli Color aerosol is very good on coverage but had dry spray areas. I let it dry about an hour then topcoated it with urethane clear. I can't wait to start bolting parts on. I've got a small pile of parts to sand blast. My boss called and needs me tomorrow and Wednesday so that messed up my schedule. I still plan on installing the engine, trans, and driveshaft by the weekend though.

Got an email from my vinyl guys. I had them come up with a stencil for my air cleaner lid. I told them I don't like the all caps in Oldsmobile. So hopefully that will get changed. I'm going to use flat black then stick on the stencil. I'll then spray it satin black. It will be pretty subtle

I told my boss that I could not work next week. I will be pulling some 12-14 hours days on this car. Being part time and being on call does not let me plan. I've got a lot of small parts painting, sand blasting, and front sheetmetal to spray and stripe. Basically, you guys will see some major updates every night next week.

Just got to thinkin, I have a few loose ends to tie up or get in motion. I need to have my sun visors reupholstered, need to check with my local muffler shop to see if he can get a Y pipe ordered in (going single in, dual out), got to get it licensed and insured, and a front end alignment. Got the OK from the wife to spend some major money. But the car will be all new and PAID FOR!

What size are your pipes? We can get y-pipes where I work. The only problem is they are AP/Merit, whereas most places sell Walker exhaust parts. It's actually a good thing, as AP/Merit seems to have more odds and ends and be of higher quality most times.

So anyway, I could at least get a part# or something if you need one. I haven't followed everything done to the vehicle, but you're reducing headers down to a single exhaust or just manifolds to a stock exhaust?

I am excited to see the major updates! I need to take 10 days off work, I would get mine in paint for sure.
