With the level of detail your going to trophies are in your future....

Thanks guys. It would be pretty cool to win a trophy with an ugly duckling. lol

Progress is slow but deck lid has first coat of Z Chrome on. Eating some lunch then spraying on another coat. May spray some SEM on a few interior pieces. I made an appointment at my local muffler shop for next week so I would be hustling

You mentioned Z chrome. Is that short for zinc chromate, or another term for it?

You are doing an unbelievable job, I had to go back to look for something and went through the first 12 pages. I had a good look at what you started with. What I was looking for was the type of rad cause a recent picture shows the lower rad hose. It looks like you have a hose that is 1.75" on both ends and you still have the part number on it. I've been trying to find one for the last 3 days so if you could let me know what the part number of the hose is if it is 1.75" on both ends I would really appreciate that.

I think your correct. It's basically sprayable body filler
So, it's like polyester high build filler primer...kinda like Evercoat Slicksand or Featherfill

This is an awesome build thread. I went back to the start a few days ago and read the whole thing over a few days. I really appreciate your attention to detail. I also admire guys like you, Blake and Jack who are brave enough and have the staying power to paint your own car at home or in a buddy's garage. I hope you can stay on this one and get it 'finished' (I don't think they are ever really finished) before you move on to another project.

The lower hose is a Parts Master 20687, it is an O'Reilley auto house brand. I told them I needed it for a 1985 Monte Carlo with 305. I'm using a brand new F-body radiator. These radiators are $90. The reason I like them is the heater hose port. I don't like a heater hose going over to the top of water pump. It just looks cleaner on hose routing to me.
