This is an awesome build thread. I went back to the start a few days ago and read the whole thing over a few days. I really appreciate your attention to detail. I also admire guys like you, Blake and Jack who are brave enough and have the staying power to paint your own car at home or in a buddy's garage. I hope you can stay on this one and get it 'finished' (I don't think they are ever really finished) before you move on to another project.
I'm hoping to stay on it this time. Having multiple projects sucks. I wake up in a new world every day and sometimes I want to work on one of the others. I have been without a very nice classic daily driver for a few years and tired of it. The only way to do something about it is to get out in the heat and get to it. I think I made it a bit past half way so that's why I'm staying focused on the Salon.

My custom Lloyd mats came in today. This was the closest color they had to my new carpet. It's pretty close. They come with screw in tabs to lock the two holes in the mat to the carpet. Just like newer cars.

I hope I can get the remaining body parts painted in base and clear before this weekend. These are the biggest hold ups. I actually think I'll make my local car show in September. I need a GBodyForum decal before though. Got to represent, you know

I have a few extras. PM me your address and I'll drop a few in the mail to you.

I have the primered parts out in the sun cooking so had some time to assemble some stuff I was dreading. The 2nd set of outer door felt strips had the perfect sized stainless trim bead. These were for a Monte Carlo. After cutting it down and working the end, it fit under the restored B-pillar cover. I made several attempts at hand painting the red in the emblem on the B-pillar but it kept coming out blotchy and brush lined. Stripped them to the bare chrome and installed them. I think I'll drive it to a pinstriper I know in Tulsa this winter to have him paint the inserts. I used 3/8 windshield ribbon to install the quarter glass. It has several bracket clamps putting tension on it. It turned out fantastic.
