I'm trying to upload a video from my phone that I recorded earlier, but its not uploading, any suggestions,m

Yeah, just describe it. Sometimes a good description actually is better than a picture or a movie.

Agreed, need to know exactly wats going on when you attempt to fire it up. Is the starter itself not engaging? Does it seem like its getting spark and fuel. Did you check you timing if you are. Is the choke open enuff on the carb if its manual choke.

Hard to point you in the right direction with the vague description of you problems

did u verify your getting power to your dizzy and out to your plugs

That's called "cranks normally but makes no attempt start". There's no "wanting to" there....that motor just doesn't want to start. It's fuel, spark, or timing. Make sure you're getting gas in the carb. You should smell it. Do make sure the choke is open a little. Make sure there's a spark. (or check for voltage to HEI on run) If you haven't already, you 100% have to check now to see if the timing is even close to where it should be. Get cylinder 1 to TDC (crank engine clockwise manually with a breaker bar and socket with plug 1 off, cover hole with finger, wait to feel rush of air, continue turning until timing mark is at 0 on timing gauge) pop the distributor cap, and see where the rotor's pointing. It needs to be pointing to the ignition wire going to cylinder 1. While the cap's off, make sure there's also a ground strap from one corner of the coil to the HEI connector. Very easy-to-overlook part. $1.47 at Pep Boys. (see attachment 1)

Next you have to check the firing order. Olds distributors spin counter-clockwise. 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. It SURE looks to me like all 4 odd cylinders are immediately next to each other on the distributor cap. (see attachment 2, I could be wrong, but it looks this way to me) Once you've done all these things (and only after, you don't want starting fluid's help if the firing order is completely off) spray some starting fluid, because you need to get this thing started up, it bugs me to crank a motor too long without oil pressure. Also, keep those cranks nice and short, if it's not even trying to catch in 5 seconds or so, something needs to change.

Since I've developed a vested interest in wanting to see this motor start, you're certain there's oil in there, right? What kind of oil? Need to make sure it's something like Valvoline VR1 or something with sufficient ZDDP.

@ Integration, it does look as though the plug wires are are incorrect. I would definitely start at the ignition setup and verify your timing. You dont want to keep cranking on that engine if the oiling system hasnt been primed. I wanna hear thhis thing fire

1.......Guys, first off I checked there is no gas coming through the line when I press the gas pedal, none is even filling the fuel filter...

2.......how would I make sure i'm getting a spark on my plugs?

3.......will try to get Engine to Tdc first thing in the morning

4.......And I keep hearing counter clockwise as far as the plugs, so does that mean 1,8,4,3 will be on the driver side, one being the wire closest to alternator and 3 being in the back by the firewall on the drivers side?

5.....I honestly don't know if i'm getting oil pressure or not, I've put 5 quarts in to start of with, it was Valvoline 10-40 high mileage......

1 - Then you've gotta figure out why you're not getting gas. Is there SOME in the filter from your cranking? Might start with a search on this, so we're not rehashing.

2 - Just check the other HEI things for now, the easiest way to check for spark is when you're cranking it, but you should do the other HEI diagnostics, everything else I wrote in the previous post.

3 - Cool

4 - See attachment. Plug 1 on the distributor is wherever plug one is, ideally sort of pointing towards cylinder one, but depending on how the distributor is installed, it could be anywhere. Has this motor run before in it's current state? If so, we can assume that the distributor is properly installed in the motor, and you'll just need to check where the rotor is pointing when cylinder 1 is at TDC. If it hasn't run before, this may get a little more complicated.

5 - You're not getting any oil pressure now, not until it starts. This is part of the problem with extended cranking.
