Hey guys found this, this morning......its cracked......but still on

1..... There is no gas in the filter at all......not even from previous cranking.....

Looked under dizzy cap, this is what I seen, something looks broken.....

I was right, this is a pic under my brothers dizzy cap......i'm missing that middle piece...could this be the culprit?

yep could def be a reason your car isnt running. I would check the rotor of the distributor for damage as well. That dist cap is certainly toast anyways
 
The photograph of the distributor wiring you sent after you rewired it does NOT look correct. The wiring diagram drawing you sent looks the same as the one I sent, except mine has cylinder 1 on the distributor pointing towards the front of the motor. Makes very little difference.

The part on the distributor that was missing in the middle was the button that rides on the rotor and carries the power from the coil. Not having that is a problem, but so is having the wiring messed up. ALL of the things we've discussed have to be correct in order for the car to run.
 
yah that center carbon "button" will cause a disconnect in the ignition. My father used to take that out when he didn't want me driving the car when i was a teenager
